What do you guys use? What have you used that you didnt like? I'm looking into getting the top of the line Scorpio alarm, and possibly LoJack as well. Do any of you use disc locks? do they do much?

I am gonna hire someone specifically designated to be security for my bike i think that will work best and have him armed with an m-60

i was looking into scorpio for a while.. my apt complex seems safe enough, though - and if it isn't, i've got theft coverage
at least for now, i've settled for a xena disc lock/alarm - works well enough to keep thieves who would ride off away. still won't stop someone w/a truck but it's a calculated risk i guess

im not worried about my place. im in a house with garage. im more worried when i go to a mall or what not. i was scared shitless the first time i took it to the mall... all i had was the "lock" mechanism that holds the bars to the left

The only concern i have for my plan is how to transport the bike guard, maybe a side car.
I hear nothing but good about scorpion alarms, but i always try to park near a front door or in sight...

LoJack is ok, but by the time you know your bike is gone it is usually disabled by thief's. Your bike is already disassembled and ready to ship to Mexico. I just have the HJC Chatterbox alarm. It has a starter disable feature. If I hear it go off then I have a gun to stop the thief.

I have the lowjack on mine, made sure to get it installed when i bought the bike. Its just a little peace of mind. I plan on getting an alarm later this year when i am not so poor. :(
as for scorpio alarms, they are based here in phx. Maybe you can get a good deal buying direct?

what do alarms and lojack cost? I might need to get one for the Duc. I'll feel a lot safer leaving the bike if I have to...
