Was it just me, or did the announcing on FOX just plain suck?!
Besides being somewhat of a sleeper race, :bored: the color dude/commentator shoulda stayed home.
He was distracting as hell as he tried to keep all the names, teams and positions straight. :tape2:
Anybody else notice?

Yea it was not as good as when they are on Speed Network.. when it started they went right to the Race no background nothing.. The one guy had a southern accent and everything he talked about was monotone... Pretty boring commentating.. But, great race.

There were times the announcer left it open for the hillbilly/commentator to say something, and I guess he was putting a dip in or something, because he didn't say a word. My wife was out of her seat having seen someone wreck before the announcers even caught it. I don't think they knew what was going on.
And OK, the corkscrew looked flat from the air. STOP SHOWING IT!!! They kept going to an arial view.
I don't think they watched the time trials either. They kept talking about how Lorenzo and Stoner put in their qualifying times AFTER their big wrecks? "This guy is an ironman." Neither of them got up after their big highsides; they were carted off.

I didn't see the race, but according to a MotoGP podcast I have, the last time FOX did a GP race, they sucked just as bad, and with the same issues as noted above, it seemed. Bad commentation, no freakin' idea what's going on, etc. Why not hire somebody who KNOWS what they're talking about, instead of some NASCAR stand in??? Us bike folk get screwed here in the US. :70:

The guys calling the time trials sounded familiar, and the didn't do a bad job. I don't know how they'd do calling a race, but they couldn't do any worse than these guys.

Curious.. When I watch the Moto GP on Speed network, there normally is two races, why was there only one fo Laguna Seca? Is that normal for Moto GP?

For Laguna it is. Sunday is MotoGP after 250's, and Tuesday is 125's. They don't bring the smaller bikes to the Laguna round. I'd love to see Simoncelli and Bautista go at it in Cali, though.

hearing the guys at the track was ridiculous too....
they had to double check to see who was on what bike and said stoner was on honda or something retarded like that.. they really should catch up on their research before becoming announcers lol.
