i have a 2003 GSX-R 1000 and a while back i came down kinda hard and my speedometer has never worked right since. it will not stay steady and keeps bouncing with like a 6mph range. when i get on it hard the speedo really lags. has anyone had this problem?

i have replaced the cable with a used one, since a new one is like 85 bucks and it did the same thing. since the cable is just a pickup sensor, could it be the actual sender in the case?

any thoughts?

i know on the 06 07 600 750's they have a problem with the ring for the speed coming loose and causing that, but dono if its the same on the 03's. take the sprocket cover off and if there is a silver ring on the output shaft infront of the sprocket check if its loose. if so tighten it up and u should be good

HAHHAHA, my f2's speedo bobs between 35 mph and 0, and I replaced the cable but it didnt do shit. I guess the speedo itself has a gear in it that spins. maybe its the same on ur bike?
