Well there's aztrackday and CCS. If you do CCS that means I get to watch you from about two feet away from the track so make sure I know what your bike looks like and what number you are :p then I can make sure I pay better attention to the people I know :) maybe snap a pic on my phone if I'm not super busy.

i was on a sv (#298) last week end and blew turn 7 / 8, completely cut the hill at like 40-50mph lol.. behind the corner worker station to..

fork seals on the sv been leaking onto the pads for a couple months (its been tied down in a trailer) and brake fluid was jello in the resi lol.. went to get on the brakes before turn 7 and they decided to not work. jumped into middle weight at the end of the day after that and blew turn 5.. same reason.

i was thinking about doing a track day soon, and someone told me they make you get some special insurance on top of the track day fee. does anybody know what he's talking about or is he crazy? what was the total you guys had to pay to get on the track for a half or full day?

Do a half day and see how you feel. The heat tends to get to me and 4 is enough. I would not count on your insurance covering your bike if you crash if that is what your talking about.

Yeah. You're on your own, unless you can convince them you're practicing or training on it. It's not going to get hot enough to bother you. It's the days it starts out Arizona fucking miserable, and gets worse by 0900.

is he talking about insurance incase he cancels the track day possibly? i know if you plan big trips like overseas you can buy some type of insurance where you wont get rapped out of 5k or whatever your trip costs in case you cancel

I don't know about other insurance, but mine specifically excludes racing, or performing in any organized racing competition. (speaking of my street bike, of course)

If you crash on a trackday, you either have to bullshit a good story about how you crashed on the street somewhere with no witnesses or others involved, or just get a dedicated trackbike, and screw the insurance coverage.

If you are unlucky enough to crash and hit someone else, that's a whole different story...

he said it was some special insurance the trackday people made you get. i'm guessing it was to protect them/ other riders in case you crashed into someone? or maybe it has something to do with your insurance not covering you on the track? he wasn't real specific. it sounded like he didn't know exactly why he paid it, but since i've never been, i thought i'd ask you guys. it's hard enough coming up with the money for track time, i can't afford any "hidden fees" (if there really are any)

Sometimes a racing competition is deemed a "timed event". Which trackdays are not timed events.

Hey when does tech start tomorrow? I am looking at making the November 1st track day and would like to hang around when tech happens just to make sure I have everything in order for when November comes around.

Tech happens all day...don't sweat getting there early in the morning.
If a rider crashes, he's got to go through "tech" again to ensure the downed bike is track-worthy.

The "Tech" sign stays up all day, and you can ask questions as you like.

Yeah. Don't sweat tech. All you need is painters tape, some decent tires, and a working bike.

That sux... two ambulances were loading up as I showed up around noon.
Sounds like it wasn't a good day for several riders.

Nope it wasn't... I have a hurt roommate and a hurt bike (his not mine) from the track today :( Could have been much worse so he is lucky!
