Just wondering who's riding. I'll be working the corner ; ) and I'm usually bored most of the trackdays and take pics, and itd be nice to actually take pics of people I know, so...

ill be there Saturday getting my 2010 ccs license and running half a track day. ill be on a 03 r6 with a yellow tank, gray lower fairings and white upper/mid fairings..

I just feel bad that we are kinda cluttering Samantha's good post with petty stuff. Any who, I am pretty sure I will be there to watch. I would love to do a track day, so this will be a good learning experience. What time does it open up and when do people usually show up? I've never been, is there a charge to get in and watch?

I'm going out in the morning for the races, but probably won't be there long. If it's a Kawi event, Lasky will be there, and I think Stone is riding also. Wanna watch the vintage bikes run.

Stone raced in Superbike. He missed a few races because he wrecked.
Kane Lasky rode AMA also, but just a couple of times I think. He rides for Kawasaki, rides at the Kawi sponsored events, and wins just about everything when he races here. Awesome to watch. #329.

I don't know Stone personally but I saw one of his races and he's an absolutely amazing racer and one of my favorites to watch but with how fast he was taking the turn I was at left me breathless and nervous as hell lol.

you live in NM? i plan on doing arroyo beginning of the year, one my buddies says he can get me 2 full track days for $80.. yeah $40 a day..

no i live in phoenix but i pretty much only ride at arroyo. i'm not sure about $80. i think $105 is the best possible unless you got inside hookups. $155 less $25 for paying a week in advance, then $25 more off if it's your first time.

anyone know someone that can rebuild my forks before sat? if I can get them done for a reasonable price then i might do the sat trackday. For 1 fork, i need to swap the bottom half between two forks that i have, and then both need new fluids.

I want to get a trackday in there, but I'm saving up to do California Superbike School again in the spring. If I can only pick between that and the one in Blythe, it's going to be Blythe. The video for that got me excited. Isn't it also way more cheap to race out there?

The one outside of Tucson has elevation changes also. And "just" outside of Blythe is about an hour. Trust me I've made the drive between here and socal probably 30 times now lol. It's in Desert Center

tires on my bike were 3 + years old and had who knows how many laps.. plus the sideways and tread had dry rot cracks, thank god tech didnt inspect tires haha

the guy i bought my bike off was the guy who tunes davey stones suspension.. which i found out saturday lol.

my best time was a 1.18 something.. i think thats good being the first time on my new bike + real shitty tires + no riding for a month.

:) So question, this is more towards Will than Jason, the last turn before the straight away, how close do you come to the left wall at the end of the turn? Because some guys looked like they came so close they were gonna smack their helmet or hit their bike so the whole time I was having lil heart attacks.

the super fast guys usally get with in I say 2 to 4 ft. in the race, thats there helmet. us amature's are more like 4 to 7ft. sometimes you want a tighter line so you can drive out and drift out to the exit wall. the one everybody kept hitting with there rear tire's and shoulders yesterday

that's why sometimes you will see a rider move his head in just befor they cross the wall

You get closer than that, Will. I was doing a superbike school in Vegas a couple of weekends ago and they had a STRICT 6 foot passing distance, and I was struggling to make it happen. I get much closer than that on trackdays. It sucked.

And I was wondering about that corner. It looked like everyone was making it a one turn corner. I saw a rider (he won his races) a couple or few months ago bring it way out and drop it in as a second corner. It allowed him to pick the bike up sooner and get great drive onto the slick part. Most people seemed to be not even drifting out to the third stripe from the big wall, and this guy was going way out to the second then dropping the bike. Did someone show you that line, or are most of you trying to make it one sweeping corner instead of treating it like a double apex decreasing radius?

Well I'm happy that didn't happen. You missed all the excitement on sunday. We had 2 or 3 little crashes during warm ups and I think another 3 or 4 crashes during the races. But apparently I was dumb and stupid for not calling the ambulance on the track to kill all the other racers *shrugs* effing females.

the bad crash was the two guys that got tangled up in turn one, it looked bad real bad but I saw them limping around later that day
