anyone gotten a flat while riding?

I was riding with my roommate friday night on the 60 and a red honda civic pulls up next to me and takes off...this guys was fast as hell but i took him past 150...then my bike starts getting squirelly...i then realized i sliced my rear tire somewhere back during the race...scary as hell!!! and my tire still had 50% tread left...anyone else had this happen to them?

Happened once..Ran over a nail..It was a slow leak, so I caught it before it killed me..But it was low enough that the ass starting "floating" on me.

Had a nail catch the rear tire on my bike at 100mph on the 202 east. Knew something was wrong but it was slow enough to get home. Bike only had 1500 miles on it

On a bike 140 doesnt even seem fast... (on my bike anyways) but ill admit my top speed so far is 153... and thats cause im to chicken shit to really top it out..

Musta been a fast civic to give a bike even the THOUGHT of downshifting, but I dont doubt it... Ive seen some damn quick civics. As for the nail, what woulda happened if it had been yer FRONT tire?

I just feel eevry 5mph over 140 is like... 20 mph... although my bike doesnt get the shakes my old SV650 would start to ramble at like 130 ish.. and feel like it would tumble... so I get nervous...

Its just a me thing.... theres people out there who like to go 200 on the freeway...

I just havent had the balls yet...
And I can admit that..

not having the balls=it feels fast. oh and 200mph is not possible on these bikes. 600's don't have the power to overcome the wind resistance and liters have a 186 governor normally(your bike does).

To say 140 is fast but that adding 5 mph(indicated so it's more 2-3) makes it feel like 20 means you are feeling the affects of the speed thus it feels like it's faster than it really is.

If it truly didn't feel fast to you then each mph after that would feel like 1 mph nothing more. Kinda like how at 45mph most people on bikes it feels like 20 or 30 which is why doing 50-60 on the streets seems natural as you don't feel the speed.

I meant 200 mph period.. not just on the bike... I think my top spped according to mags is 183 or 186... and I will sit at 140.... but I wont go above 150...

It took you till 150 to take him............ doubt it, you probably got stomped and it took you to 150 to pass him while doing a ricer fly by. (I.E. - USER ERROR). Turbo or not, my friend runs a lot of boost in his Honda (Hold On Never Done Accelerating) and I spanked him on a stock '98 GSXR 600.

Yes, had a flat on the freeway doing 120+ and rode it out knowing what it was, not fun, but gotta deal with what ya got at the moment.

My Honda CRX topped at 145mph
I can believe it! the CRX was a great car! I had an 87.5 CRX, that had the old 12 valve motor with fuel injection (old body style with one back window). It was a total pile (take my craptana, multiply the amount of wheels, and you would get a good idea), meaning for the longest time the passenger door consisted of the inner door bracing tied to the car. I took an ANSA Ferrari exhaust tip off a 275 Lusso (worked at a Ferrari shop) and made and old school VW-type stinger exhaust out of the tip. The best thing was smoking a fucker in an NSX (not the Integra RSX, but the supercar-probably an automatic, or a clown that didn't know how to drive), only to have him pull up at the next light and ask me "Dude! What did you do that car, its fast!".

Next CRX will be a Repsol CBR type replica, complete with the color scheme, decals, and the Nicky Hayden *69 callouts...
