Too bad I wasn't even trying hahaha

Jerry and I were headed to mill when a dog ran out from in front of the police car we were riding next to, at about 40mph. Well it ran in front of jerry and then stopped about half a foot to the left of my front tire and then acted like it was going to go right in front of me. So i wrenched on the brakes and pulled the back tire up what felt like at least two feet and went from 40 to 0 in what felt like half a second haha.

anyways, all is good. I cant fully rotate my neck cuz it kinda tweaked when i tensed up. damn dog.

practice your emergency braking everyone. I burned a rear tire just practicing and it paid off. A 30 pound dog at 40mph could have really hurt.

did I mention I don't like dog's right now? Jared, maybe you could find me a cat? :P

If you practiced your emergency stopping, you shouldn't have gone into a stoppie. period.

i second that...pulling up the rear tire...looks like you'll have to waste another rear tire, keep practicing :p

by practicing I meant I knew how my brakes would of responded. The whole point was I didnt want my front tire to go anywhere near him. If I would have used more of my rear and less front, I would of hit him. Softly, but I still would of tapped him and probably laid the thing down.

Wrong again, the fastest way to stop is keep BOTH tires on the ground and pressure on both brakes. You want all the pressure you can get without skidding either tire.

i agree

lol it makes sense in my head but I can't explain it. You would have had to have it happen to you to understand what i mean

Maybe, but it is a FACT you can stop quicker with both tires on the ground.

yes I agree with that. i just cant explain it in writing so that it makes sense haha. next time i see ya ill draw it out ;)

all i know is that last time a cat ran out in front of me i took it out. all it felt like was going over a pot hole......better than losing a bike over

yeah i thought about just gasing it and going through it. thats what ive always been told/have done on dirtbikes when animals were in the way. but this dog was big. at first i thought 30ish pounds but now that i think about it it was probably closer to fifty. my dog is 30 pounds and this one was much bigger. anyways, a friend told me about a story where some biker ran through a cow so i unno lol
