i just dont see how that is going to protect you that much in an accident.. I can understand them for stunting but anyone who has been in an accident knows that the most vulnerable spots are your legs, hands, elbows, and shoulders... not your chest or back.

Now i know someone is going to argue the back protector and i agree. But why not just get a textile jacket and try to protect a little more?

i think if it actually works the way its supposed to. you'll just loose your skin and break some bones. not your back.

Yeah I agree but the idea is that the most vital things are protected. It's the risk you take. The alpinestar looks a little too dirtbike-ish for me. That mesh would not hold up for shit on the street. If you wanted to rock the alpinestar one I would get this one

Basically the same thing but has the elbow and shoulder guards also. Granted these would probably tear off when sliding but it would probably save you against the initial impact.

I usually don't either. I have one pair of Joe Rocket jeans that have Kevlar in them, but usually I don't wear any protection. Just on rides to Tortilla or Jerome.

I have the joe rocket phoenix mesh jacket and realy like it. Seems to be plenty of protection for normal riding and breathes realy good. I can't stand riding without a jacket any more it feels to vulnerable.

^ +1 got the same jacket the J.R. phoenix.... I guess the best way to avoid it all is not to crash....
