hey i want to see what everyone else pays for insurence in your own name and how old you are. Because this shit is ridiculous!! there trying to tell me from $400-$600 for full coverage. which i need because I am going to finance the bike I get. any good inputs would sure help out. i really want to get a bike this weekend!!

I pay about 550-575 per year. My driving record sucks, and i am 29. Be carfull about financing throgh the dealer. Most times they will basicall put the bike on a credit card type account, and the monthly intrest is as much as your monthly payment. So the total on the "card" never reallys goes anyware. I am currently going through that. My payment is 200, and they charge 185 in intrest. On a tight budget its hard to pay more than the 200....

ya.. my buddy just bought a 1000 last nite. they tried pulling that nonsense. i will probably go thru AZ federal. get the loan. then if i can find someone to put insurence under is the only thing.

who quoted you that if it was state farm their quotes are per year not per 6 months as they prorate each month based off of the % of mileage driven durring that month of the year on average.

Like 12$/Mo

Having an R at the end of your bike costs some cash. I'm definitely going with an umbrella policy on my mortgage before I consider a sportbike.

full coverage except under/uninsured(yeah i know i should) on 2006 R6, 21yo, perfect record at the time, $1500 for the year from ridenow.com

That will probably go down as I am going to go under my mom's insurance where she has two other bikes also.

You would think but nope! Unless you're married, have a home...You get the point.

Seeing as my record isn't very 'clean' right now I am looking for new insurance. I used to have GEICO but they are pretty expensive so stay away from them!

yeah but our bikes have more hp then your car and weigh about 1/4th with a rider. Plus your a girl it's cheaper no matter what.

what does weight have to do with your insurance price? Motorcycles in general are cheaper than car insurance... just depends on the person's age and record and how many other vehicles you have under the policy. I don't think wt plays a factor but i could be wrong.

generally MC insurance is more expensive, when your looking at cost of vehicle to cost of insurance ratio. risk of something happening on a motorcycle is way more than in a car, which is why its more expensive

power to weight ratio is one of the biggest factors in how a vehicle accelerates, top speed and other performance factors.

same reason a truck with 300hp is less expensive for insurance then a sports car with 300hp for the same person.
