i forget total producation, i wanna say 200 for '99 and 200 for '00. but only 50 a year came to the USA, and to buy one, you had to have a race liscence, proof of that years and next years race schedule where you had to be in majority of the races available that season, and some other insane thing (aka it wasnt at a dealer showroom for Jonny Q Public to buy).

Thats crazy! At least with the R1LE you have a chance of getting your hands on one.

phuq the price tag of the LE. u can prob get the same parts cheaper. maybe in a few years when the resale value drops to around 11k ill get 1 (better have low arse miles too)... but no way ill drop 16k+ on one. at that price, ill save up for an R7

yeah but i am pretty sure racers have nerves in their asses too, so a few more ounces might be worth not having the pain in the ass.

lol yea but most race bikes seats are 1/4in piece of foam. they dont need much more as their ass is hardly on the seat. Most of the time its hangin off to one side or another

I tried to make a statement about Yamaha owning in the American section, but admin owned me. :( LOL, I would have put it into every make post... But I didn't feel like it.... I think he only OWNED the post cause he had a suzuki.... LOL. I think everyone knows Yamaha owns either way.

not really. The R7 was loaded with tons of racing parts/features that were never ment for a production bike. It was way ahead of its time. It might not have been as fast as an R1 but it sure had some "extras" ;)
