View Full Version : HOOTERS BIKE NIGHT!!

AZIROC

i know this is a lot, but take the time to read it.
look slike the first official bike night is going to be sunday, the 17th, which is this coming weekend.

Location: Hooters, downtown on 3rd street & Van Buren.
Parking: On the sidewalk, as close to the bushes as you can get and dont block the bike racks.
Time: 6:00 pm till whenever. (closes at 11:00pm)
Bring you family and friends, family type environment!!

if you plan on going go ahead and post up & subscribe to this thread as we are still working out minor details with security and management as of this post. 3rd street is a one way south street at van buren and van buren is a 2 way street with a concrete median. when you show up, BACK your bike in so the pipes face the bushes (Security doesnt want pipes sticking out and people getting burned) and face them towards hooters.

Yes, i know rules fucking suck, but theyre pretty lenient rules if you conside they could make us park elsewhere and walk there which isnt my idea of a 'bike night'. it sounds like the manager on sunday nights is pretty cool with the idea, we only have to speak with the GM and get him to say yes (which i dont think, as paying customers, will be a problem.)

Secretary Gruberman is going to make the calls for us tomorrow since he has the day off mon & tues.

One last thing i want to point out to people that plan on going to his bike night. 3rd street and van buren is a weird intersection. one way south and divided way going east with no median going west. depending on your exit strategy, which we checked out tonight, making a left to go east on van buren shouldne be a problem, nor should going west in van buren or south on 3rd street. PLEASE keep in mind that we are (hopefully) going to be parking on a pedestrian walkway and exiting in a pedestrian crosswalk.

WATCH OUT FOR PEDESTRIANS and avoid them at all costs. DO NOT fuck around with them like yer gonna even attempt to get close to them. i know for most people that are saying "WELL DUH" right now this seems pointless but its one of those simple things that is overlooked and can be easily forgotten. so far everyone seems pretty cool with this idea, i personally like the idea and dont mind a 20-30 minute ride to hang out with you guys. i just dont want that one person to fuck it up for everyone.

again, im not saying it WILL happen, i just want to make it clear to everyone that if and when we get the final ok, that nobody meeses this up because its a good location, decent place (heh hooters girls.... cmon!!!^%*#%) and everyone including security seemed pretty cool about the whole situation.

so for thos of you who choose to participate and show up, thanks, your support is greatly appreciated and we look forward to meeting you at the next AZSportbikes Bike Night.

(PS. NO FIREARMS) *will*

i just want to remind anyone who is going that this is the 1st meeting we are setting up to make it an "offical" bike night down there... so no squid shit... no hauling ass when you leave. if ur gonan go.. wear proper gear. and none of that stupid ass t-shirt/shirts/flip-flops and no helmet shit like i saw at the last in-n-out meeting. Its been alot of work trying to set this up with Hooters, Arizona Center, Security @ the Arizona Center AND the owners of that whole "center" and i dont wanna see this "big chance" ruined cause someone wanted to show off.

well i think we had the worst waitress in the world. she was so fucking dumb, but what can u expect when u go to hooters. I also thought this was going to be a big event but there was like less than 20 bikes there.

One good thing was that I found a girl that actually loves to go a buck 40 on a bike. I think I got her addicted to it.

i'll agree on that, the waitress was pretty bad. im STILL waiting on my cheese sause! i;m just glad i didnt order a sandwich later or id be waiting for that too.

but either way, it was a good turnout for a 1st time thing. Matt is already talking with the manager and trying to work a few bugs out. specially the parking issue (and last i heard next tiem hes gonna have a few employees park where we were last time, but when we show up, they will move their vehicles for us.

i'd imagine the service will be better in the future now that they know what to expect. no big deal

09-17-2006, 10:43 PM
I was surprised at the turnout, I figured maybe 9 or 10 bikes at the most, but I guess I was very wrong. Anyway, it was cool meeting the people that I did and sorry if I was kind of a lame-o. I guess I was a little to intrigued by the Yankees/Red Sox game that was on.

Anyway, hope to see you all again soon

If you need work done I know a guy (Does all the work on my R1) that is very good and saves me a grip of money. I don't know what part of the valley you are in, but if you are near Peoria I'm sure he would be willing to work on your bike for a lot less then the shop. Oh, he's also a graduate of MMI and such, so he is an actual mechanic and not just some sort of "run of the mill" person.

wish i could have made it out  ah well ill make the next one or the one after... damn bike

I was thinking it would be nice to organize a big AZ Bikes BBQ and invite a bunch of clubs and organizations... Maybe have it at Papago park or something in a few weeks when it cools off. I know we could get a big show of people.

That was a awesome turn out! It will most likely be every other sunday! they will block of some parking with employee cars then when we show they will mvoe their cars. They are talkin about for every table that we take up that they will already have wings ready and drop about 50 weings per table! Hooters managment was amazed at the amount of bikes. They were thinkin 10-15 bikes were gonna show and then they would help us do this on a regular basis. So they were happy! Hope to see more people soon

I think that a huge BBQ would be awesome. I would love to see a huge group of like a hundred bikes somewhere. If we do this im totally down
