I've been talking with a guy over at KatRiders (http://www.katriders.com) and we've decided to go on an out of town ride in a couple weeks.
The plan is to meet up at the QT on Baseline and Rural (northeast corner) at 8am and head out to Wickenburg.
Then Prescott, Sedona, Flag via 89 and back to PHX on the 17.
I've only ridden to Payson, and that was just a couple weeks ago. So I'm looking forward to a longer ride like this one.
Interested? Let me know.

cant get my tires till i find out how much my ticket is. not sure if I have enough money right now. plus now my bike got hit by someone at my new job so I have to get that shit fixed. I'm playing detective right now and trying to find the van that hit it. if insurance covers it -im going to get a new paint job, 2 new fairings, full exhaust, new mirrors and brake levers.

As hard as you want.....move at your own pace, and if you fall behind we will always slow down and wait up. If you are fast and ditch everyone, then you do the same....

just got my pilot powers put on today and an estimate of how much my bike would cost to fix it. you wouldn' believe how much the estimate was so im not even going to post it. plus they did every little thing that was wrong with the bike.
so since i got the tire i guess i have to go and ride with u guys. i just need to know where we are going to meet...and i might need a wake up call...it's the weekend before my birthday. i'll try to take an easy saturday night but i can't promise, that jungle juice im making is already calling my name.

did anybody here make it out yesterday? i wanted to go, but had tickets for the diamondbacks game and i couldn't pass up saying farewell to gonzo/counsell and watching my padres win the west
that, and i slept at a gas station from midnight-4am the night before.. still sore from that :x

Five of us showed up for the ride. Myself, Keith(skull-rid3r), Tony (asu-vfr), David (someguy from KatRiders), and Mike who was from AZsportbikes.
All in all it was a terrible day. In the first part of the day, two of the five of us aquired tickets before getting to Prescott. From Prescott we headed up to Jerome without Mike, who split ways back to phx. In Jerome we stopped for lunch of the Jerome Brewery. About a mile after we left the brewery I trashed my bike doing about 30-35 in an easy 20mph corner...a combo of cold tires, and the painted line caused me to lowside so quick I had no time to react...
I'm okay, sore as fuck right now. The bike is non-rideable. The left clipon just snapped off, along with the left footpeg. Everything on the left is trash, along with the windscreen. Oh well, shit happens.

Yeah it deffinately sucks but I don't think it'll take too much to get it rideable....it may never get fixed cosmetically just because of it's age and my financial situation. As soon as I'm rolling on 2wheels again you can count on me posting up a Sunday ride.
Instead of new plastics and paint I may just look into another bike...As you may have seen on our ride, I already out ride that bike in the corners and could stand to move up to something a little more geared toward my style of riding.

You may have learned a lot but dont get too cocky... when you get to comfortable you will realize just how much you dont know, and unfortunatly people really dont realize it until they go down.
I have seen this already twice this year. Confidence is good, but too much confidence makes you ignore fear.
It will be a week or two for me to get used to my bike again before i hit up the twisties...

mine was fine, just suck it up man. if you want a shorter ride you can go to tortilla flats, it takes about 2 hours there in back. it also depends on how long you go up and down the road. its about 10-30 min. from tempe (it depends on how fast u ride down) its a really fun road to go on to.

I don't know how you guys do it.....This was my first "sport" bike, even though it's actually a sport tourer and the seat was harder/less comfortable than I'm used to(100% cruiser background).....Then I got to ride several other bikes including: '06 R1, '04 FZ6, '05 SV650, '06 GSXR 600, '01 GSXR 600......and the seats all feel like FUCKING LOGS!!! It may just be my boney ass coupled with a bad back, but HOW DO YOU GUYS RIDE LONG DISTANCE ON THEESE THINGS!!!!! Some crazy mofo's ya'll are! LOL.

Like "bikerchik"(I believe that's her S/N) I have a bad back (lower back pain 24/7.......so I hurt no matter what. My wrist never hurt thought because I do support myselft with my back and abs....I just don't know how your ASS can handle those seats....brutal!

Keith is deffinately a cocky SOB but I'm sure he knows his limits, which is good. He does excellent for someone with such little experience on 2 wheel. I'm impressed. All though he does ride like a jackass from time to time....
I agree that many people go down due to the fact that they think they are more skilled than they are...but at the same rate, many riders that are actually good riders still go down due to unforseen(sp?) circumstances... Shit, I'm a fairly good rider(6 years street) and I went down due to the fact that I didn't realize my tires weren't warm enough, or I hit the paint/gravel/tar snake....whatever, I don't even know....but shit happens, skilled or not.

Glad to hear you are OK. Sorry about the bike. You can probably afford a 04 - 05 R6 even maybe an 06. You would be finacing less than $8,000. Did you get a ticket for the accident? I don't know about insurance for an R6, is it in the same class as an R1?
Anyway glad to hear you are OK.
