i dont know if i like the old ones or this one better. Just looks too busy up front. Like there is so much going on that your attention seems to go there and you dont see the rest of the bike. The design just doesnt look balanced (as in perspective, not mechanically)

Meh, like the older ones better. Besides, older ones didn't have speed limiter, making them automatically badass.

Why the hell would Suzuki put a speed limiter on a bike like a 'Busa? Hell the ONLY reason you really buy one is either to go fast or because you like the way they look (as they arent the best in turns and such).
At any rate, the black one doesnt look TO bad... Though I've never been much of a Busa guy myself, I'm diggin the new 750 Gixxer's, I sense a new bike in my future :D

thats exactly why there was a govner of 300 kmp (186 mph) put on it. When the busa came out in '99, it blew the doors off any record that the blackbird held.. including a factory bike doing 200 mph or more. "they" aka. the man, didnt want everyone doing 200 everywhere.. so they limited to 186 which, imo.. whats 14 more mph.

Exactly! Cause going 184 is soooooo much better than 200
At any rate, those ZX-14's are DAMN, and I mean DAMN FUGLY!

See, thats how they getcha. When the busas put the limiter on it was "Just 14 more mph" to their limit. As the new models out do each other again and again, hp, aerodynamics, and top speeds are just going to improve in an effort to leap-frog over each other. With every new model the 300kph limit is just holding the bike back farther and farther from it's utimate limit.

there is a chip called something along the lines of speedo retarding somethin or another for zuks that allows them to reach their full potential, i am pretty sure that the 99's can go like 210 or somethin like that out of the box, not sure i mostly follow yammi anywayz

The part ur refering to is a TRE. timing retard eliminator. basically its just a little resistor that tells the computer that the bikes in 5th gear in every gear (i guess 5th gear is the magical gear where the computer lets the bike run the best).
'99 and '00 had no gov. and could do the same as a '01+ with a TRE. They cant do 210+.. strapped and slammed.. depending on tires, wind, road condition, ect.. could see maybe 203-204. but usually a TRE'd or non gov busa is good till about 196-201 with stock gearing. the 99's (even though i love the copper/silver) has the MOST problems. some come stock with a alum swing arm instead of the late 99's and '00+s which are steel (alum would bend cause of the tq) also there was a huge starter and clutch issue. 2000 got everything mostly fixed and 2001 and up everything was fixed.

ah i see, i had only heard a little about it before, so is there a way to remove the gov, or is it just too much of a pain and if the bike is gettin better and better wouldnt a tre on lets say a new 07 be able to go 220+ out of the box i know they just came out with a new tre this yeat, but thats all i heard

a TRE is like $15 on ebay. just plug and play. there are SMART TRE's and ADVANCE TRE's.. and other kinda..but those are like $100 and do the exact same thing as a $15 one.

you can get the smart or advanced ones on ebay for like 40 bucks but it's another $20-25 to add a switch so it can be shut off as the TRE's also work to change the fuel mapping for the FI models. Oh and i am pretty sure they use 4th gear as the setting since the top of 5th can hit over 186mph under the right conditions.

in 08 they will be putting a new engine in the busa along with redesigning it. so if ur in the market for a new one wait, i think the engine will be around 1400 cc. you know because everyone needs that little bit of power to go 250.

last i heard was they were sticking to 1300 but the power was going to be 5-10hp over the ZX14 with a lower weight. word is they also are looking at trying to get the bike to claim the street legal land speed record.
