When you are riding or riding with a passanger make sure they have good gear. this is what happened to one girl. This is her telling her story, the pics are graphic and include her just barely covering herself so becareful where you open this

Wow..... what an article. Makes you think how fragile our protein based bodies are. I wonder how fast was she going when she hit the ground, probably not that fast since she didn't break major bones. I noticed most riders have pretty nice sturdy leather or textile jackets, and I am sure they can protect you well against pavement, but does anyone here wonders about or lower body..... your legs, your feet, your ass, and hell even the family jewels!!! Notices some of your wearing leather pants, and let me tell you, I will be the next one doing it, I am a runner, and my worst nightmare is not beign able to do that because my legs weren't protected....

For those not wearing over the ankle boots, you are crazy!

Well as you guys know I just had my accident and how nasty it was. I was wearing leathers up top w/ full boots and my usual "ride jeans" they were thicker and provided more protection than any other pants I had. But I still knew that if I hit the road they'd still tear up. Fortunate for me they did protect me for the most part but I still sustained mild road rash on my left ass cheek and severe burns from lieing on the pavement like so before they could get anything under me. It will be a very long time before I'm physically capable of riding again, that is even if I EVER am. But I assure you all I will be getting back on my next bike in full leathers. Heat or not, If I'm gonna play the game I'm going to play it safe. My body WILL NOT live through another spill like I took this last time. Guys ride safe, ride in gear don't screw around. I don't care who you are you've got to much to lose!

I've read that before. It sucks that it could happen to anyone, but she had it coming to her since she made the decision not to gear up.

I am just glad she is alright and back up on the bike! ANd you too kurt! Your wreck had a lot of impact on myself especailly bein right behind you! Sometimes I make my self think about what happened that day and I watch bike accident videos on utube and read articles like this so I never forget what the possible outcome of this sport I love so much could Ultimately bring upon me! The minute you forget what it is all about and start to not respect that monster you sit on is gonna be a bad day.

Like kurt said wear gear and ride safe homies!!!!!!!!!!!
