Hey folks, well I just happen to wonder over to the yamaha website.... Ok, badass.... All of the color schemes and all the new goodies the put into the R1.... So yea , sorry I got a lil over excited but eitherway go check it out.... My prediction is with the advancements that went into the R1 it's gonna dominate this up coming year....

i must admit it is a nice looking bike but i have always doubted the drive/fly by wire designs. always seems to me that they lack the linearity most of us are used to and that could be a huge factor on a bike.

Also the GSXR1000 is new for 07 as well and while it lacks some of the huge tech jumps of the R1 it may be stuff that people are more willing to except and look at. Especially the new Electronically controlled Steering Damper that will adjust the damping force also now that they have an O2 sensor on the exhaust it may make for better performance with aftermarket stuff without adding a Power Commander. Not a huge fan of this years color schemes though but at least you don't have to pay more for a color other than blue (looking at the R1 MSRP's)

It will be interesting to see but i think the key here may be how much faith people put in such large changes in electronic systems.

About the fly by wire throttle control, I can honestly say I couldn't tell the difference between my bike, 06 R6 from another new bike without.... Fly by wire throttle control has been on the market for 20+ years in the automotive application and has been proven for durability and reliability.... So I look at it like why not bikes, when I rode my bike I never had an issue.... I found the throttle response to be very smooth and accurate but again this is just my opinion....

hey the new tec on the r1 rocks, the only diff on the r6 is the tac is fixed, now redlines at 16.5k haha and the colors aree great. well the r1 dominated this year so i think it will again next year! r6 will have some trouble from the new honda i think but will still be at the top
