W-O-W!
So impressed with the service department here!
Met with service manager Nick and service writer Mike. They were super-great. I had several major things needing to be done to my R6...New chain/sprkt, new tires, change brake fluid, one if the major scheduled maintenence checks, etc. I went in thinking it'd take a few days with needing to order parts and such, but they said they'd have it done the next day...even after they couldn't find the correct chain/sprkt locally. They dropped me off at home Thursday afternoon, I get a call Friday afternoon: Your bike is ready. Niiice. I was busy then, so I had them pick me up today and got to bring my baby home. She runs and rides like a dream now! Oh I'm SO happy!

Not saying they're prefect, by any means, but as someone else said to me...they've got locations in several states, they didn't get this big by being idiots.
I think its particular employees that make the difference. Find some that are good at what they do and stick with 'em. Once they know you, they'll try to look out for ya. Thats why I loved the place I used to go to.
But it seems like its a lot easier for people to voice up some hattin' than sing praise. Its the same way for the dealerships I knew in MN, as I'm sure anywhere. If you went by what you heard most, you'd think every dealer sucked crap.
Meh. A horse a piece.

ysa, was where i got the r1 and the busa! they were cool and didn't pull any bull$%^# on the price and finance. there parts guys (chris) are cool and will price beat any advertised price.
METRO sucks azz!!! i have never had a good experience there. there like the power group of the motorcyle biz.
it's amazing the difference between the two shops, yet there owned by the same people?
just my experience!

ysa sucks, took me 5 times to get a simple valve adjustment and valve seals installed on a brand new dirtbike from them.. You have to check their work because they say they do things like sync throttle bodys and change filters when the gas take is never removed.
They also like to drain your oil before they have the parts needed ( oil filter ) in front of them. They changed my oil without a brand new oil filter and tried to charge for an oil change with my old oil filter still on the bike.. I said "fuck you" and left.
A lot of the mechanics or servicemen have never been to MMI or reached the age of 18.
Oh yeah when I took the dirtbike in for the blue smoke coming out the exhaust when it was cold they asked me if I changed the oil, I said yes; they said it was filled with 1 quart too much of oil ( oil capacity of 2007 rm-z250 1 quart ). I don't know if the same people still work there but if they do I would recommend not getting any service done there.

Going to YSA or Ride Now (same crap different name) is kinda like gambling where the odds against you are stacked way up high. I wouldn't trust those guys to do any work except change my tires, even then they tend to scratch the hell out of my rims. If you want proof take a good look at my rims and I'll provide the receipts. As for valve adjustments etc. I'd rather no do them at all and keep my 500 dollars.

VEGAS???
Yep. And as far as getting good deals, I think not. Even the guys that work there overpay for their bikes (13k for the R1, how gay is that). The only way you can get a good buy is if you pay the msrp, plus all the imaginary fees and some lube for your anus. I've heard of people paying upwards of 17k plus for the R1's from Ride Now Motorsports Group.
i know a guy that paid 15k for a 2005 gsxr 600 with 6000 miles on it in july of 06

That's what happens when you shop by the monthly payment. That bike will cost him more than 20k at the end of his fifth year term.
well after crashing it twice(before even getting his plate) he spent over 23k on that bike. i told him for that price he shoulda wrecked a 1098

ride now is part of the culter cadillac group, they run there dealerships like a car store. No relationships one time sales, in and out, bend you over, and no reach around. All the dealerships that are part of the culter group are all going to be called ride now including harley shops; and they own a ton of shops in town.

its funny...i used to think the same way. fuck ride now blah blah blah. try checking your credit, putting money down and not getting all the warranties and stuff like that. and dont bitch about it research what you buy before you sign the papers. and pay attention to what the salesmen are telling you. ask questions. people arent getting screwed. they screw themselves.

it all depends on who you deal with at what dealership. some of them are douche bags others are pretty cool guys.
but you have to realize too is they arent there to be your new best friend. its their job, if they dont sell a bike they dont get paid.
i completly understand that. but i will rather deal with a cool guy than a douche. it just seems like ride know is a breeding ground for douche patrol
k and here is why sorry i just remembered. my first time going to ride now. i went in there looking for a 600cc bike guy was like have you ever ridden i told him just dirt bieks and quads. he was like how about this 1000. you look good on that. ya dont worry it aint that fast. then i took my girl there which she used to ride dirt bikes and this fucker trys sell ing her in a 750 or a 1000 too. they dont care what they sell to who. i think its fucked up how they are selling this 2006 gsxr1000 to this kid knowing he is gonna die on it. i dunno i went to champion and they actually talked to me told me shit. they said start off small work your way up. they still got a sale but they seemed to care and give info. now i will go back to them when i want another new bike

02-15-2008, 08:46 AM
this is why ride now and a lot of other sales places suck: lack of caring for people coming through the door... when i was looking at bikes one of the salesman was talking to a 17 year old with his parents about what bike he should get. guy asks the kid "do you have experience with motorcycles?" and kid answers "i've ridden some dirtbikes off and on in the past." This is where it gets f***ed up quick... salesman turns him around and immediately tries talking him into an R1. granted this kid should do his homework and know that the bike is too much for him, but he's 17 f***ing years old and all he is thinking is how much a bike like that will get him laid... irrefuckingsponsibility... if anyone on DR told a noob with no bike experience to go get a literbike how much hell do you think they would get on top of getting thier ass kicked? salesman might as well take the kids money and then shoot him in the head... that reason alone is why i wont be taking my bike or my business there ever again...

i can call complete bullshit on this one. i am a salesman at one of the ride now dealerships. motorcycles are my life. if im not on the street im on my dirtbike, or riding quads in the dunes. but its also my job to sell things, and well i need to make money. i tell squids to start small, i rarely recommend 600cc sportbikes for them. i suggest sv650's ex500's or even a cruiser to learn how to ride. its the person buying the bike's fault being ignorant to the fact that 180hp and 375lbs is a way to die quickly. most have their mind and heart set on something and thats all they want.

That's why you are defending the dealership so much, because the reputation of the dealership reflects in your pay. As far as the other sales guys go I have nothing bad to say about them. I personally know a lot of them and love to stop by from time to time to chat.

Well Metro Motorsports almost got me killed. They failed to tighten my safety bolts on my rear swing arm after changing my tire. Luckily I was in a parking lot when the chain side of my rear tire slammed forward causing my tire to slam into the swing arm. My fault for not checking their work but what if that happened when I got on the throttle doing 80 on the freeway... good night to me. The service manager even said they wouldn't do anything since I can't prove it was their doing... needless to say I take all my bike work to reputable shops.
As for buying one. I wouldn't care to give them my money I would just go in and be firm and say this is what I am willing to pay. If you don't like it I go elsewhere.

All i know without reading all the mumbo jumbo is Mike over at YSA in the service has taken care of me really well this week.
Someone tried to steal my bike over at the gf's apartment and they broke a key off inside and I wasn't able to get the handlebars unlocked. Mike got a truck and trailor and a few guys over to lift my bike up and take it to the shop. Didn't charge me or anything to pick my bike up (maybe that's the norm but to me it was a courtesy considering I was on 75th ave and union). Ordered the new ignition part i needed and has kept me informed on the goings on of my POS that i love so much.
I'm all about the service over at YSA and just talk to Mike...he's good guy.

I bought my bike from the Glendale RideNow and they weren't TOO bad, but in truth I'll never shop there or at any other RideNow again because I wasn't impressed. They tried to load a bunch of BS dealer fees on to raise the price of the bike by nearly $400. And when we finally bought the thing it took them four hours to prep it, and our salesman must have walked past us about eight times, very few of which he made eye contact or apologized for how long he was making us wait.
I went in to the Phx location a few days ago to see about getting rid of my bike and they said nope, we can't give you what you owe on your bike (was asking at the minimum 3,500), because the KBB value says so. I felt like saying um, YOU'RE going to sell it to some poor bastard for 6k you douchebag. I went to a few more places near my place that deal with Kawis and the consensus around here is that RideNow is shitty and they're the bottom of the barrel as far as bike sales go... don't shop there. >_<

i personally deal with ysa! the parts guy's and one of there saleguys are good people. as far as the company? it sucks!
it comes down to being informed before you buy. if you know what you want and how much it should cost. then if they ask more, call them on it! if they won't move, then walk! this is how you hurt them, do buisness somewhere else.
my rule of thumb is, find a place you like that treats you right and you feel comfortable. thats your place! if you ever feel like something not right? find a new place. most people can tell within 5 min if they trust someone. if your bad a trusting the wrong people? bring someone thats knows there sh%^! thats the beauty of a demoracy, freedom to go and buy from who or whatever we want!

Ok, 1bad and lilblue, it's been a while since I have been in school, since there are more of you here that are at ASU, I will ask, did things change? Did they do away with the class called "Business Ethics"? Or is this the type of ethics they teach these days?
Funny how RideNow managers or dealerships go through dealership training (I will have to find the link again), wonder if this is what they get taught or if this is something they wing.
So if you find this behaviour acceptable, if you come to me to have something programmed, since I would know more about this than you it's perfectly fine for me to lie to you and get more money out of you?
Common, you really can't believe that this is proper business proceedure.... and if you do, I would be worried about your futures and your children's futures when this becomes "Normal".

Well, I never went to ASU and I've never taken a business class, so maybe I’m just dumb.
Is it wrong that I pick my service department based on which one has the best looking guys working there?
I don’t care so much what ‘company’ it is that I am dealing with as much that I care about the actual people I deal with (e.g. the person writing up my work order or the one doing the actual labor on the bike). I'm strictly talking service department here. Not parts, not sales, etc. Service only. If I can trust those people to take my bike and fix it, do mods, whatev, thats all that matters to me. I have yet to walk away from having stuff done there and have a problem that was due to their work. And so, I can seriously say I am totally satisfied with the service dudes I've dealt with at Ride Now Phoenix.

i'm from the old school! :(
the reality is, it's the same today as it was then! every place has a good person and a bad. i have went to many a buisness and bought from certain people and not from others. based on the feeling i got with them.
again! not saying i like ride now and there managment, just certain people that work there. that give me good deals and don't bullsh^& me.

No, every place does have good and bad people.... Too bad nearly everyone I have dealt with in association with RideNow has been BAD! Surprise with their lies and their "Let's try this and see if that fixes it" method of motorcycle repair.
The thing that gets me is how Ride Now handles these bad employees. For example, the sales/finance manager, Jeff Selig, from the Surprise Location is no longer there. Was he fired? Hell no, he was just moved to USA Motorsports, soon to be RideNow Goodyear.
Remember that name and if that is who is writing your deal.... RUN!!!, or make sure you have plenty of Vaseline with you cause you are gettin it in the rear with him!
After all the screw up's from surprise, I was finally able to get good service at USA... Cory was cool but I have to wonder if it was real or if it was because he was being told to do a good job from corporate.... Hate to say that because the bike is finally running well, and the only reason I do mention that is because the previous time I was there it was like surprise... let's do the 16k service early and see if that helps.
Warranty is up in Oct.... then I am FINALLY DONE with RideNow and all their bullshit! F RideNow!
Some food for thought, with an economy as bad as we have now, they are still building new dealerships, Goodyear for example, so yeah, I have to believe that they are still screwing over the customer as much as possible.... if not in sales, then with this bullshit repairs that get charged to the warranty companies over and over again to try to deduce the bikes problem. Guarantee if this money was coming out of my pocket for this method of motorcycle repair, we would be back in court!

so whine about it a little more. so you got assraped. who hasn't. learn from it - don't go back.
maybe you'll note that the title of the thread was RideNow Phoenix (formerly YSA). not RideNow Surprise.
maybe thats why i'm happy with my service and you're not. :]
and maybe i'm a jerk. i don't care.

I have a 2004 Yamaha R6 that i bought from a private seller. the bike came with an extended service plan that has to be done through Ride Now. So far i have been impreseed about Ride Now (former YSA). I have gone through them to have my full system akrapovic exhaust installed, which included power commander, and BMC filter. I just had them change my oil at 6000 miles and bought 2 Michelin 2CTs from them and had them mount and balance them. Chuck in the service department is an excellent guy as well as brian. they both make sure they get my bike out in time and done correctly. Josh in parts will help you with just about anything you need on a bike. My only complaint is that Ride Now will try to rape you with prices. Luckily they will price match. My Akrapovic exhaust was going to be $2800 through them. After doing research and finding deals on the internet i was able to get the exact same exhaust, installed and everything for $1700. Samething happened with the 2CTs. They wanted $200 for the front and $250 for the rear. I got them to price match them for $115 front and $148 rear. YSA Ride Now is willing to work with you and have some great employees. you just have to do some research and shop around to make sure you get a good deal.

:dance
No yeah I know all the guys behind the service counter and parts, they're pretty damn cool. They always try and hook me up when I'm in there. Main word being TRY. But its cool being one of the only females that goes in there with the bike I have, they always know who I am or have stories to tell me about guys seeing me riding my bike around the city. But when I go in there they usually already know what I am in for lol, kinda cool.
But I recently (couple months ago actually) had to take my bike in because the Code 18 was showing up and the bike would stall right in the middle of turns or during downshifting, well they checked on it and said they fixed everything, well I rode it to work that same day I got it out of the shop and right in the middle of a hard corner the bike turned off completely on me and I almost went down hardcore, so they had their towing guy come get it almost immediately... and then they called me the next day telling me that something happened with the battery cables, they came loose and then completely came apart from the battery... wtf??? Go figure.

+1, ECS dyno is my place to go for major service. great people and great service all around. USA motorsports, well.. i will only let 2 people in the service dept touch my bike (1 is the master tech and the other is the manager) both ive known since 2002 and they have always done great work. i dude who was helping the master tech said he needed to "test ride" my busa after he put the tires on. i laughed and said get off my bike before i throw him off *in a nice way* and he thought i was joking and tried to leave. to bad 4 him the master tech (still cant rememeber his name at this moment) yelled at him to get off the bike. haha. a couple of times when i took my R6 in, someone else was working on in and 1 thing or another wasnt done correctly (prob new people). i wil NEVER buy from the sales/parts people because they dont know a damn thing and are beyond uninformed.

I <3 my YSA(phoenix ride now) service guys.
They rock.
I walk in with random problems that I don't even know how to describe because I know nothing mechanical and I never get my regular maintenance done on time yet they always fix her up just right despite my suckage as an owner.

For the record, I will not entrust my bike to anyone else but SVC...
And no, not just because they're a sponsor on this site, but for several reasons:
I got screwed right outta the blocks at Rape-me-Now motorsports, YSA, whatever the hell they are calling themselves today. I dont' feel the need to rehash all the stupid shit that happened to me after taking my bike there. Every time I went, something either was not done right or they ended up screwing up something else. Having ridden some form of two wheels for more than 20 years, I kinda know what to look for.
After struggling with several other "small" shops, I talked to Duane @ SVC over the phone, and immediately could tell that his attitude towards his work was waaaay different than anywhere else I've been in Phoenix. This is a guy who takes extreme pride in his work, goes the extra mile, and will not promise what he cannot deliver.
Just one example: amongst other things, I asked him to change my rear brake pads, and change the fork oil. That night, I was in the garage cleaning her up, and I noticed that my rear wheel had new weights on it that were not there just one week ago. (I try to clean her once a week, and I notice this stuff.) Same thing with the front...new weights on the front rim...Notice, I didn't change any rubber while in the shop.
Not only did he take the time to rebalance both of my wheels when he didn't "have to"....
He didn't even bother to charge me for it....
And that's just one example....I could ramble on....
SVC....the shop that I trust with my LIFE!
