So, me and the bro decided to go ride one noon “Don’t know where I just got here”. The twisties where all cool and stuff going at a considerable speed knowing the fact that I’ve been riding for about 5 months now. In the way back I decided to go motor gp style on a sharp “ yellow 35mph” twisty. I leaned the bike as much as I could; I see my front tire crossing the white line so I said the typical last words “OH SHIT!!”; my knee hits something in the ground but I didn’t even feel it, I straightened the bike as much as I could; next thing I know my handlebars are twisting like hell and Im riding trough the dirt like in a motocross track. I didn’t turn fearing I will loose more control even though I was about to hit the 90degrees pile of dirt in front of me. I squished the clutch and I lat it go in N until it luckily stopped at about 6 feet before the wall of dirt and stones. While all that was happening the first thing that came trhough my mind was; ”Ok Im goanna hit the dirt and I will probably brake something. Umm I wonder if I still got medical insurance… did I bring my phone?”

I though I was going to get into an accident for sure because all the stories I’ve heard about going off the road. They all had a bad endings.

Oh yeah I forgot to say that when this happened my bro was right behind me. The morran kept riding after I went off the road and I finally cached him about 20 miles after the accident. Bastard...

Any way I guess Im really lucky knowing the fact that I went off the road with only a bruised knee and an intact bike.

lucky as hell. Now make sure you never question the insurance issue again... whether its motorcycle or health insurance it is manditory or you will be in debt for your entire life if something happens

Well is nice that you didn't damage the bike, hopefully the knee isn't too bad.

The one time I had that "oh shit", tire crossing the white line feeling, I was lucky enough to have a guardrail to bounce off of at 70mph....LOL. Kept me on the road but tagged up the side of my bike a bit, and my leg aswell.

I ate dirt and almost a guardrail, a speed sign and the edge of the cliff. Doin' 35 on the way up to Prescott. Just didn't turn hard enough. Bike did some flips. My bad ended up against the speed limit sign and about 15m from an edge of a drop off. I was riding with guys from Phoenix Sport Bike Club. They stopped and checked me out. Even fixed my bike enough to ride. All my plastic had damage and my knee and pants were shredded. This was back in APR 05.

I finished to ride though. I felt like a dumba**, but considered myself real lucky. I iced up when we stopped for breakfast. One for my knee and one for my hip. I did a nice face plant in the dirt. Lucky my helmet was on.

Sh** happens.
