Is anybody planning on going to the USGP???? I wanna go but haven't found anyone to go with yet. Let me know. I might be able to get some Motel 6 for free. I would have to find out for sure though.

I'm the same way, no way in hell I'm riding. The bike is going in the back of the truck or on a trailer.

I totally agree. It really isnt that bad of a ride. If im going to a world famous motorcycle race then ill be riding my motorcycle there. You dont need a Harley to do a 10 hour ride... or do some?

I wanna take the bike still because I read on the Laguna site that regular parking at the track is for bikes only. Auto's are being parked at the University and people shuttled in. 10 hours is going to feel really nice sitting in my Silverado :D

at least Vegas can be a fun ride. Up to San Jose, is literally a straight, flat shot from Phoenix. The only place that you wont be in a straight line is the grapevine and the 152 freeway that will connect you from the 5 to the 101 about 45 minutes below SanJo
A kick ass ride would be up the 1/101 up the coast. THAT would be bitchin'. But it takes double the time....

what dates does this take place???
i personally would want to ride there on my bike, just to say i did. and riding is a lot more fun than driving a car(less i had a ferarri)... less gas too. most i've ridden straight was four hours...

That would be awesome! So is Ortega Hwy (74)! It's just south of Riverside in Lake Elsinore. That is one awesome mountain road!

What time frame are you guys planning on doing this in?
Cuz seriously. My house is dead center between here and San Jose and I know my mom would be cool with some people crashing(i dont have a big house so that is why I say some lol). Maybe move the couches and tables around and we could get 5 on the floor and couches. Also, my dad has a bigger house and he is in Thousand Oaks(about an hour north of my mom) so that might work also. We could even sleep some in the RV and the dirtbike trailor. Cuz if you guys want to take a few extra days, so maybe we could hit up Ortega or the 1/101 that, I would be down for. But 10hrs straight on that shitty straight ride to San Jose, nuh uh.
Also, if we got to my dads and decided that fuck this, we arent riding another 5 hours, we could probably get 4 bikes in the dirtbike trailor and 2 in the back of his truck and take that.

ill take the extra time and do the 1/101 up the coast... the leguna race is in July

It is july 20-22 and tickets for all three days are $90 and an extra $40 to reserve seats in the grandstands if you want them. The parade lap is sold out, but i'm sure some tickets will pop up on ebay if you really want to ride one lap. Race day costs $55 with $25 for grandstand if you only want to see the race. I really would like to go and if I do I am riding. Go for the full experience.

They're gonna have campsites basically on the grounds for $150 for thursday through saturday nights. Only two bikes are allowed at each site though, which sucks. Depending on how many people want to go, we can get a couple of these and just pitch some tents.

i went last year, grand stands arnt worth it, general is legit unless u know someone who can get u some sick seats with food and tv's to watch. And highway 1 and 101 is just as boring as going 10 to the the 57 to the 210 to 5. its longer and along the coast. As for not riding there, you all prob would show up to devil rider events in cars, its cool i just wouldnt do it

I have to talk to my aunt and she usually hooks me up with Motel 6 for free. Not the best place, but its free. My plan would be to "drive" up the 19th stay the 3 days watchin the events/taking some rides on the bike (which is in the truck or on the trailer) and drive back the 23rd. I have a Silverado that I can squeeze 2 bikes in the bed or I'm sure I can borrow my sisters trailer if theres more. Heres the link for the ticket info: http://www.laguna-seca.com/Tickets/index.cfm?Fuseaction=ViewTickets&EventID=17 I don't have tickets yet, I was trying to find someone to go with. Squids/jackasses/etc. that would ruin an awesome trip need not apply. Let me know.

count me in. i'm willing to do a campsite. i could borrow a small two man tent from a friend and bring that no problem in a backpack.
fox hill sounds good. located between turns 6 and 7.
if someone wants to commit to camp out there w/me, i'll put the money down for my general admission and 150 for the site (75/each, it's for two bikes)
hopefully we can get at least a few more and have a couple sites and show up and camp out together

I'd offer to pick up my dad's RV(1953 Bus) because it sleeps like 6 people but gas would be hell of expensive and its top speed is 55 lol.
