Regearing the 2006+ R6

Sup guys,

Thinkin about regearing the Raven to get some more acceleration in the low end. I know its built for the track but I doubt I'll be hitting that anytime soon. So I'd like some more acceleration for the everyday street riding.

Anyways, here is what I am looking at doing.

520 Conversion
Vortex Front Sprocket -15 Teeth(1 down)
Vortex Rear Sprocket - 50 teeth(2 up)
DID X-ring Chain - 520VM

My question is really for anyone else who has done the conversion to their R6. Really just want to hear your thoughts on it.

Was it worth it?
Would you have done something different?
etc.

and thanks JErry for helping me with the parts. I just want to hear other peoples thoughts on it also :P

pssh, top speed isnt that cool, your going straight. If you want to talk about the highest speed just get a busa and brag about how it is fast in a straight line

i have it done and i top out at 156 and thats w/ a speedo healer, at rev limmiter and ur really only going 167 corrected speed w/ stock gearing. oh and u will love it, being able to have that low end torque its awesome not so dead below 6k any more. any q's just ask, i have the same setup

no i wnet -1 +2 stock on the 06 16/45 i went to 15/47

id be interested in seeing what you think after you do the conversion. I have the same bike and i am serioulsy considering gearing asap because of how bad the low end on the new r6 is. The -1 +2 combo is common on the 2nd gen r6 but i dont know what the guys with the new r6's are doing that works well. The tranny gearing between the old and new r6 is completely different.

I dropped a tooth on the front a while back, and it was great. Now i just added 2 to the rear and its even better. I have a 2007 BTW. Still need a speedo healer though. You won't regret it man.
