Ok so about 45 minutes out of Phoenix on the I-10, coming from Los Angeles, there is a bridge with people I always see dirtbiking down there. Anybody know what it is called? It didnt look that exciting but I was just curious haha.

if its the place ur thinking about its not a place to ride, just an open area. Its kind of not good to ride there because people on the 10 complain and the sheriffs are starting to crack down. I was talking to the owner of Arizona Cycle Park which is in that direction.

Its the hassayampa river. Going west you go over/past the bridge to the next exit, go south on that road over the I-10 then theres a turn off (left) to go back east to the river. Its an awesome place to ride. You can go up and down the river bed which is mostly sand and then theres a lot of side trials in regular dirt.

yea, thats it, not a riding place. Even though there are trails I wouldnt ride there cause you piss people off. When you piss people off they complain. When they complain the city/state makes stupid fucking laws that make riding motorcycles a real big hastle. live in california and try to ride a dirtbike, most annoying shit ever becuase of all the laws. Red sticker bikes cant ride in the summer months at california state parks, so your forced to ride on the tracks. Theres also sound regulations, cant be over 96 decibles or you get a ticket, so the four strokes are real limited to what aftermarket pipes they can run. Those are the two main ones.

yup. that is why I got a fourstroke instead of a twostroke. In CA, twostrokes can only ride a few months out of the year. Legally anyways. Its funny to because my dad has an '04 250 and his is red stickered whereas my '02 250 isnt. even though they are pretty much the same bike. so mine is legal all year long :P

How do you figure its not a riding place ?? Just cause its not an "official" riding park. In AZ we don't have many of those. You find an open piece of land and you go. Second, your gonna piss off people wherever you ride. At least out there your not riding on private property. Its like riding sport bikes on the street, it doesn't matter where you ride your gonna piss people off. So where do you suggest to ride since your a law abiding citizen that only rides on approved off road trails and are courteous not to piss people off ??

theres tons of places, there are 3 tracks all within an hour drive; arizona cycle park in buckeye, speedworld in surprise, and ET in apache junction. There are also DESIGNATED riding areas where even if people get pist its just to bad. Right off of power road, they call it powerlines, also if you go up by lake pleasant (go up the 17 then take the carefree highway) there are many staging areas; mile marker 11.5, mile marker 4, wildhorse. Or you can go up by fountain hills area to the washes, by like four peaks. go to www.arizonatrailtalk.com and just read up on some issues. If everyone just keeps going fuck what people think there will be something put in place to make sure people dont ride there. Im sure it was a fine place to ride when someone or few people first did it, but now too many people do it and obvisouly people notice.
As for street bikes, it doesnt matter who we piss off as long as its not the cops. People with loud sport cars also piss people off, so what. This isnt issue of me worried about peoples feelings, its an issue of those people trying to reduce the places that i can do a sport that I like. Dirtbike areas can easily go away, they wont take the roads away from streetbikes. We call people squids when they ride and do stuff that gives street bikes a bad reputation, dont be one on a dirtbike.

I agree with you that people shouldn't act like complete idiots and ruin it for the rest of them, but a big group of people meeting on public land that doesn't have a signs/warnings to stay away aren't doing anything wrong. Even if it is an "approved" area for off road use doesn't mean people don't act like idiots and it doesn't mean that the area can't be taken away by the state/local government. Look at Arizona Motorsports Park...it was approved by the city, people started complaining about the noise (even though its right next to the AF Base) and they ended up closing them on a minor rule they broke with their operating agreement.

Don't/didn't mean to disrespect anyone and I hope nobody took it that way, its not how I intended. Sorry if anybody took it that way

Yep, it's Hassyampa. We ride and we have big sand drags out there on the weekends. Got one planned for this weekend. Sunday. Been doin' it for years. Sometine we get the cops called but it's usually after about 2am. Shits fun as hell and legal. We grate the sand and sometimes have a watertruck in the summer cause the dust. Come check it out guys. Lots of riding area!
