I bring my bike in for a new set of tires. Immediately, the "Service Advisor" tries to up-sell me a $20 oil change. I had just changed my oil 2,000 miles prior, but $20 is a good price, so I say, "Yes."

I proceed to wait 4 hours - for mounting a couple of tires and an oil change. Finally, someone comes to talk to me. Apparently, the technician that took off my plastic (presumably in order to access my oil filter) accidentally stepped on it and cracked it. They assure me that they'll make it right - free of charge, so I drive my bike home and wait to hear when my replacement plastic gets delivered.

Meanwhile, the accident with the plastic has me paranoid, and I start looking at my bike. I suspect that the oil is too high, so I ask the kind folks at the Kawasaki Superstore in Ahwatukee to take a look at it to be sure that I'm not retarded. One of their technicians, looks the bike over and, sure enough, the oil is too full by about half of a quart. Aside from that, he gives the bike a clean bill of health (except for the cracked plastic, of course). Keep in mind that I actually watched this entire check-up, so I have no doubt that there really was too much oil and that they pumped-out half of a quart.

From that point on (approximately 2 weeks ago), I left my bike parked until the plastic could be addressed.

Fast-forward to today. I take my bike back to RideNow Powersports of Chandler for my new plastic. I drop-off my bike and bide my time outside. After 2 hours of no phone calls, I head back to the service department. The "Service Advisor" tells me that the plastic is on and they just took my bike for a test drive, so I should be on my way any minute. Now, if you're wondering why the hell new plastic requires a test drive, your guess is as good as mine.

They bring my bike back and inform me that the seal on one of my front forks is leaking. "You do a lot of wheelies with this bad boy?!", he asks. "No. No I don't," I respond (and that's the truth). Repairs, they estimate, would run me $300.

So, this is the part of the story where you're free to draw your own conclusions. Fact: They over-filled my oil. Fact: They damaged my plastic. Fact: The bike was given a clean bill of health prior to my 2nd visit (where they told me about the seal on my front fork). Fact: The seal does, in fact, appear to be leaking.

It's possible that neither I nor the tech at Kawasaki Superstore noticed the leaky seal. It's possible the seal went-out during my drive to RideNow. It's also possible that they either deliberately or accidentally damaged the seal during their "test drive".

Like I said, you can draw your own conclusions. As for me, I've got an appointment at the Kawasaki place to get my front fork seals replaced next Tuesday. (If anyone has any experience with them, please chime-in).

This entire experience has left me so angry and paranoid that I seriously want to sell my bike just to make a clean break of the situation. I know how crazy and heavy-handed that sounds, but that's the way I'm thinking right now. Honestly, I had been thinking about selling for the past couple of months (because I could use the cash, and I haven't had the time to ride anywhere near as much as I want to); I think this pushed me over the edge. You can probably expect to see a post from me in the Buy/Sell forum sometime soon. Maybe I'll sleep on it.

ive nvr trusted the chandler ride now. they have ripped off SO many people. what did they say when u told them about ur oil being to full? id make a complaint to the owner and tell them AFTER they broke ur fairings and making ur wait hours, and having to "test drive" a fairing fitting they found a leaking fork sealm even though u took it to another store and they inspected the whole bike and found it was overfilled with oil, now it "magically" has the leaking fork seal after its been back in their possession

Always write down your mileage before a dealer services your bike and have the manager confirm it with you. Some of these "test rides" Last up to 35 miles.

Ride now will never get a dime from me.

And seriously, test ride for installing plastics....

Bbb? and maybe that channel 12 on your side thingI've contacted channel 5 (KPHO) and channel 15 (KNXV-TV). I don't expect anything to come of it since I can't prove any sort of malicious intent. But, if they hear about enough "coincidences", then maybe they'll put some resources into trying to catch those guys red-handed.

I Spent $100 for the Factory book on my bike and it has saved me thousands of dollars doing everything myself... I am the only one that works on my bike. I have someone do my tires but I take my wheels off and take them in, and I leave my bike at home.. I recomend it to any of you new riders, Its a great way to learn about your bike, and you will have a better understanding of why things work a certain way and it will eliminate that doubt you feel when leaving a dealership.

Chandler Ridenow = the old Town and Fuck me... i mean Town and Country.

Everyone knows to stay away from that place. I would never go to a ridenow place. If you have a Honda go to NorthValley Honda. Mark Ladesma runs it and does great work out of there. Kawi Superstore is also really good

Ridenow in Chandler is horrible. I have gone there 3 times for service(I bought the prepaid plan, biggest waist of money ever), and I have had to take it back to let them "make it right" 3 times.

First time the bike came back with 40+ miles on it when I got it back and it was missing some of the fairing bolts. They had to order more and they would call when they came in. Think I ever heard from them until I went in again to see if they came it. Sure enough they were there. Why no call, who knows....

Second time they decide to replace the gas tank when I took it in(Honda recall), and they ended up pinching the vent line and the bike ran like crap when I got it back.

Third time was for a tire. They put on the completely wrong tire size. When I went back to complain the technician told the manager that he called and I told him to put that size on. Why would I tell the guy writing up the work order to put one tire on and then have the technician randomly call to confirm or have me change the tire size. Basically they called me a liar but they did put the correct tire on after I complained.

One more incident and I have the GMs cell number.

Horrible place to deal with...

Ride Now Chandler People are stupid as f*** and desperate for a sale... Yesterday I went to Chandler to go to AZ Superbike, just to check out the european bikes, I couldn't find the store, so I walked into Ride Now and asked where AZ SBK is located. The guy played stupid (I realized AZ SBK was right across the street). The salesguy tried desperatley to lure me into the store to check out Gixxers and CBRs, but I told him I was out today to check out Triumphs, Aprilias, and Ducatis.....he gave me the largest load of BS ever. He said, "When you figure out what bike you wanna get, let me know and I can price match them..."

I'm thinking, "WTF, you can't even get one of those three on your salesroom floor. How the F*** are you gonna price match?" ROFL

Side Note--- The people at AZ SuperBike were cool as hell...Laid back. I guess it has to do with the bikes they sell....people who go in there know what they want and have the money for it. So there's no need for BS-ing.

iI have heard all the complaints about Ride Now, and even talking with a friend who worked and Tucson Cycle and Ski ( now Ride Now ) who told me to be careful, I have shoped there for the convienece factor. Even though I knew I was paying a little more for parts...

Well the last time I went in, I was going to put in an order for some parts for my Seca II. I thought I would save some time and write down all the part numbers from there website with the prices. Things like a pilot jet, header gaskets, some special bolts and screws... Everything I wrote down totaled a little more than $30... Not bad compared to some other places. On my way there from work, I relized oh, I left the part numbers at work... Oh well right? NO! Come to find out, they compete against their own website... All of the prices they pull up on thier system are marked up like 20 - 30% . They were going to charge me more than $50 for the parts... Anyways I was pissed and just got a couple of the parts they had in stock so my Carbs wouldnt leak gas, which I paid way more for than I should of.

Anyways, I recently went to Cycle Gear for some pants and was very happy with the non-pressure staff there! They sold me a pair of pants that were better than the ones I went in for and they saved me $10...

I would deffinitly recomend the extra 4 mile drive from Elliot to Southern and go to cycle gear rather than Ride Now!!

Sorry for bringing up an old thread but....

Are you serious? Thats so far overboard its almost unsettling.
I'll give a little insider info since I was a service writer at T&C for about 1.5yrs. They didn't hurt your fork seal to try and make money. They also didn't ride the piss out of your bike during the test ride. Things do go wrong while in the shop. Normally the customer would demand we fix it since we obviously caused it to happen. A bit absurd and exactly the reason they don't work on older bikes. As your fixing problem #1, 2 more things go bad.

They use 3 levels of techs there; A,B, and C. A techs are the old dogs, know everything. B techs are very good at their job and can do diags like the A techs, they just haven't been doing it as long usually. C techs are the newbs, usually going to or just out from MMI. They do oil, tires, the easy stuff. An A tech is supposed to check all C tech work but its very possable they didn't and hence the overfill from a newbie mistake. We all make them right? As for the plastics, that was someone being careless. It shouldn't have even been on the ground.

As for the wait time, it was the #1 complaint when I worked there and we went threw great pains to explain to people there is no appointment for a time, its for the day, ALWAYS. Unit must be there by 9:30am, we will return it by 6pm. If not, we'll call ya and let ya know why before 6pm.

Im not by any means trying to say the dealership as a whole is a good place, or even that the service department is [theres a reason I don't work there anymore, and I've threatened them with identity theft many years ago] but I do think you went too far because of a couple minor mistakes and a used bike having something break.
