I just registered and thought I would give a little introduction. My name is Jarod. I am addicted to streetbikes... hard to believe huh?? I am 26 years old and have been riding since I was 17. I started out on a 1996 Yamah Seca 2.. yeah that's right air cooled for the win baby!! I rode that bike for just under 2 years before I had the pleasant experience of totaling it. I figured hey.. now that that is out of my system it's time for a new bike so I purchased a 1999 Yamaha R6. Rode that bike for quite a few years until I sold it to appease my girlfriend at the time... that's right I said girlfriend at the time. If I knew the bike would have outlasted the girl I wouldn't have sold it because the bike never treated me like crap :D Anyways I am in the process of purchasing a 2001 Yamaha R1 and should have it within the month so I look forward to joining you all on some rides. Anyways I will be frequenting the boards and will be getting to know you all. Later.

Call Honda East Toledo and ask for Scott Johnson. See how affordable a new or 06 bike is. Welcome top the club.

Yeah i looked into new bikes the only problem is that my credit is shot. I started a business with a buddy and although it generated good money I was getting paid very inconsistently and therefore was always late on payments. Life lesson learned. So I have an opportunity to get the '01 with around 14k miles on it for just under 5k. It is a very clean bike. Polished aluminum everywhere and polished rims. Needs some additional after market goodies but I would prefer to purchase those myself anyways. It was owned by one of my good friend's ex husband who purchased it used but never rode it seeing as it was his first bike and he was scared to death of it. If I could get a new bike I would unfortunately financing one is a different story all together.

I actually had an mk3 but I hated it... motor was great but I love the boxier mk2's. I am selling my car now(03 Honda) and should make around 3-4k off of it and will be buying an early 90's mk2 gti. Hopefully the 16v. Here is a pic of my favorite MK2 of all time.

OK so i finally got to ride the bike last night.. put on around 200 miles  I can't believe how much I missed the feeling. As soon as I started her up i got chills.. then I giggled down the entire road as soon as I took off. And for the first time in a long time I was able to just let the everyday bullshit slip away. All that relationship drama and stress was just blown away. Some people will just never understand but I am sure most of you can relate. It was amazing. Anyways, I will be posting some pics today of my new love!!
PS.. I also forgot how fucking cold it is riding at 80 on the freeway at 1 in the morning.
