Is there a way to modify the front page, or at least what I see everytime I load it. I am talking about announcments like, shirts and ride into the night events that have already passed. Maybe im OCD but was just wondering if there is a way to minimize them or somthing?

Any ideas?

not a bad idea, and definitely something worthwhile to look into (customizations and such per user)

the way i see the front page, though, is it's a good starting point whenever you come here. you get to see if there's anything new and important, and you can see some quick stats at a glance. from there, move on to the user cp or new posts to get what you're probably looking for

Yeah I like the idea of the front page and think it is very usefull and set up well. Just think It would be nice to minimize some of the main post... Like the Shirts, and Ride into the night info pages... So we dont have to scroll to the bottom of the page to see the recent post and things like that.

Admin, do you think that could be a possibility?

Do like I do and when you go to DR click on New Posts at the top. That's usually all I ever use on this board.

1. Post Whore http://www.urbandictionary.com/images/thumbsup.gif (javascript:void(0))161 up, 23 downhttp://www.urbandictionary.com/images/thumbsdown.gif (javascript:void(0))A post whore is somebody who posts mostly meaningless messages consisting of one word or just emoticons. They have an unsaid ability to magically appear in any thread at any given time to add crucial arguements to the debate at hand. These said crucial arguements include ground-breaking conjectures such as "what," "oh," or a curiously little smilie who is blue, and yet neither happy nor sad.

Someone who posts on an online forum just for the sake of posting. He or she doesn't have to have any relevant or complete thought to post. As long as the post count goes up, he or she is happy.

3. post whore http://www.urbandictionary.com/images/thumbsup.gif (javascript:void(0))2 thumbs uphttp://www.urbandictionary.com/images/thumbsdown.gif (javascript:void(0))1. A newbie to an online forum who goes into overtime posting many short and usually meaningless posts in an attempt to raise their post count to pass the newbie stage ASAP.

2. A type of trolling or board saboteur where the intent of the person is to invade the forum with an annoying presence.

3. A person who is starving for attention in real life and compensates for their shortcomings in society by living in a forum and inserting their presence across the board everyday and sometimes all day. As soon as their post count breaches the highest recorded for the forum, they often begin to post frequently on the direction the board should take. It is not uncommon to see their avatars change frequently often with a theme of power. Forum members will begin to try to put the member in check but to no avail as the person is feeding off of their imaginary power to which they compensate for their lack of real world activity. (Most notorious for fitting this definition is the member: Bluto from getbig dot com)

4. A person, who feels their higher post count gives them added credibility in the forum, even over people who have contributed for much longer and as such they go to great lengths to increase their post count.

5. A post whore is a virtual attention whore. The attention whore brings the same attitude into online forums where they assert their “look at me” persona by invading the board with a large presence of posts.
Blutos are post whores of the worst kind.

It doesn't necessarily mean that their posts are pointless or unimportant - it just means that they're probably bored or have a lot to say.

2. Someone who whores threads. Evidently making the thread about themselves.
1. Miss. M posted 1,000 posts today. What a post whore!

2. Mr. A posted 30 posts in the 'Music' thread and only commented on how shit his day was. What a stupid post whore

Really I don't think I am that bad, just a lil whorish

**back on topic**

I like the idea of the minimizing of certain sections in the front page. I as well, rarely use front page for anything and always hit the new posts button. To each their own:hattip

the front page really exists for new comers to the site to get a quick snapshot about what all goes on. most users that have been around a little bit just click new posts. as of right now there is no way in the software to let you minimize it...short of josh coding something maybe...which i don't really see as necessary as like I said, the new post button works great

I just relized that it doesnt save the settings when you go back to the page so ultimitly it is just a way to change how the page looks until you go somehwere else or refresh that page... Is that somthing that can be fixed?
