Good, at least everyone will drive less like an asstard and I know where the enforcement is.

doubt that they are still asstards no matter if there are speed camera's around or not. now they just do it 5mph below the speed limit in the left lane.
God i hate other drivers

Lol, well yes, for the most part. I witnessed, from the day after they turned them off, a horrific change in flow and poor driving. Plus DPS was all over the entire freeway with Laser hiding in bushes. At least this is easier to predict. It only really slows right by the cameras anyway.

i never really drove that stretch of freeway but honestly, does it really make a difference or is it just for revenue? I mean, so people slow down on what, a five mile stretch of the freeway? they jsut speed up again right after it...
the only way it would seem worth it to me is to have cameras on all of the freeways. then the cops wouldnt have to worry about speeders so much and could focus on drunks, wreckless driving, etc...
i read that DPS is looking into taking over the program so that may actually happen...
Jerry, if that happens, your going to have to help me fab something up for the Magnum lol. I'm thinking something Transporter style :P

hey jerry u can make me 1 ;) and people only slow down to 74/5 right b4 the cameras then speed up again, cuz they dont click ya till 76, besides its not like any 1 who rides a bike has to worry about it if they are wearing a full face helmet, they can not prove thats its u without reasonable doubt so they just get thrown out, if they even send it to u

Speeding motorist tried to blow up camera
By CHRIS BROOKE 23:09pm 9th August 2006
A desperate motorist tried to escape a speeding fine by blowing up the roadside camera which snapped him, a court heard on Wednesday.
Engineer Craig Moore, 28, took the drastic action because he feared he would lose his job as a result of the ticket.
He returned to the roadside camera in the Manchester area and used explosive material, once used to make bombs and now common in the welding industry, to destroy the device.
But the motorist didn't realise his actions were recorded by the camera itself.
It is understood that pictures recovered from the camera hard disk show Moore's van pulling up and later 'sparks flying' as it burns.
Moore himself is not seen on camera.
Yesterday Moore, of Grampian Way, Doncaster, appeared at Manchester Crown Court and pleaded guilty to destroying the £8,700 traffic management camera belonging to Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council on 14 August last year.
He destroyed the device using Thermite, a mixture of powdered aluminium metal and iron oxide which reacts explosively and causes intense heat when ignited. The material is commonly used in welding metal.
Moore, who has no previous convictions in the last 10 years, was released on bail. The case was adjourned for reports and he will be sentenced for the offence next month.
Details of the offence were not revealed in court and Moore left without commenting.
Nationally speed cameras are expected to earn £130 million in £60 fines this year.
Last month a driver was jailed for 56 days and ordered to pay almost £3,000 costs at Manchester Crown Court for trying to dodge a £60 fine by moving a road sign.
Care assistant John Hopwood, 42, was caught on camera in Rochdale doing 41mph in a 30mph zone.
He took a 40mph sign from another street, put it on a lamp post in the area where he was caught then sent a picture of it to the fixed penalty office to argue that he was obeying the sign.

Scottsdale camera vote
On Jan. 16, Mayor Mary Manross and other members of the Scottsdale City Council heard a report on freeway safety and voted unanimously to ask Napolitano to assume responsibility of freeway photo speed-enforcement.
The report compiled by ASU traffic systems expert Simon Washington showed that Loop 101 drivers clocked at 76 mph or faster spiked by as much as 850 percent after the cameras were shuttered in October.
Washington also credited the cameras with lowering mean speeds 10 mph and reducing collisions as much as 70 percent.
Napolitano responded late Tuesday with the letter, urging Scottsdale to switch its Loop 101 cameras back on.
The governor said the Department of Transportation will renew Scottsdale's permit issued last year for the freeway photo test. The extension will last until June 30, when the city contract with camera operator Redflex Traffic Systems expires.
"We're not doing this to make money in Scottsdale . . . the governor can put together a program that allows whatever dollars are collected to be used for something worthwhile, and it should be public-safety related," Manross said.

Yeah they help slow things down, but they're annoying, and I don't like annoying.
