I will be getting registration taken care of on Saturday for my bike. Insurance is all set. But I gotta get my "riding legs" back since its been 3 years since I had my old R6 so I am not sure I will be going on any rides for a few weeks.. don't want to end up taking one of(or all of  ) you out while I get the feeling back... or possibly slow down the entire group..

i just think its funny when people try to go insane at canyon. When you have been to canyon lake 50+ times and seen 10+ accidents you kinda learn something at that point. But if you wanna ride fast ill give you a run for your money....if you pass me ill dub TTF speed champion of the week (given you dont die in the process)
im just messin around....im pretty slow...really 8)

Yeah I definitely don't go out there and ride like I'm at a track day. I ride within my limits and don't go past them and by no means am I a super fast rider or ride "insane". I just like to keep a good pace. Just like everything else in life..........to each his own.

If you're riding at someone else's pace you are wrong. This is my second TTF run so I'll be pushing myself, but I'm positive I won't be up front. It doesn't matter how fast you are as long as you're having fun and letting faster riders pass you. We'll all meet at the top, and again at the bottom before we head out, so what I'm saying is everyone is welcome no matter how slow / fast

Thats the point. Good ride and no accidents while riding at your own pace and improving your own skills. I like how you guys think :D

Cool.. I should have the bike all set and street legal tonight. I just got my 3 day restricted use permit to get to the DMV to have it inspected and get emissions done. It has never been registered in AZ so I have some hoops to jump through. Should be all set today or Monday morning at the latest. Would be nice to have all day Sunday to ride and get acquainted with her 8)

So the trip was a lot of fun. I didn't get to the parking garage until 1345 so I do appoligize to anyone who showed up prior to said time and left before I got there. It ended up just being my bud from work, his friend, and myself. Myself and my friend made it back no scratches. The other guy? .....
So it's both of their first times going up TTF ... my second. The third guy fell behind just before the turns started and apparently he was trying to catch up. He came up on the first sharp turn wayyyyyyyy too fast, and couldn't slow down in time. He said he saw the cliff / dropoff and decided to lay it down so as not to oh I dunno ... die. Good decision!!! He and the bike skid off the road into the dirt shoulder area where cars stop sometimes. When he got up he saw only one thing in front of him (yeah this is fucked up) ... a cross. He was stopped by that memorial to some guy who died there in Oct 2002. Crazy shit. He got really lucky ... a few scratches, bumps & bruises, but he's perfectly fine. More good news? ok. So his bike still ran. He jacked his plastics up on the right side & lost a mirror but thats it. Didn't even break his front brake handle.
We were still able to complete the run, and all made it back in one piece. :D

riding outside your skill....especially to catch up which is often the case.....is always bad!
There are stop points...which i speak for myself here....i will always wait for guys who say they will be behind cause they may be slower. I have even ridden behind guys who barely even leaned their bike and rode the speed limit because thats what their level was and i told them i would stay behind to make sure they made it ok.
Sorry to hear about your friend. Hopefully he can fix his bike and try again.
I am pumped to ride tomorrow and cant wait to meet some of you guys i have never met before. Cya there 8)

Weren't we just yesterday talking about riding within your limits ?? I hope he was alright and his bike isn't messed up too bad. Unfortunately trying to play catch up is usually when the crashes happen. People don't want to be that "last person" even though being last is better than being rashed up and having a messed up bike. I was last all the damn time when I first started riding :D

Click 'Tools' scroll to 'Internet Options' then go to the 'Connections' Tab and click on 'LAN Settings' and when you get in there uncheck the box that says 'Use a proxy server for your LAN'. When you're done, repeat process and no one is the wiser. Adam > Websense

Life is too short to not enjoy it. I have had 2 extremely close friends die in accidents and it is hard to cope with. Everyone that knew them kept asking why they were driving as fast as they were, but they were doing what they loved. They had a passion for speed, as do all of us, and the fact that we face danger around every corner is what drives us. It always sucks to have someone go, but I just ask myelf whether they were having fun at the time. I would much rather go out in a high speed crash than doing some boring everyday task or getting some disease and I know that my friends felt the same way.
