I get so pissed everythime I go there. It's seriously a source of stress for me so I try and stay away as much as possible, but anyways... my gripes.

Gripe 1: I walk in with all my part numbers and prices as matched online at ron ayers and on their website and figure I'll just order the parts local to skip having to pay shipping and the deal would work out to about the same as with ron ayers... actually on paper a little better at Ride Now. So I go in and try and make it as easy as possible with a printout and hand it to the parts associate and first thing he tells me is I have to pay shipping on my order even with a customer pickup order. In 7 yrs of riding and going to countless shops up and down the west coast I've never had to pay shipping when picking up in house so naturally I complain and ask why and the answer givin is simply a shoulder shrug. WTF, talk about great customer service. And why would I ever go to a shop when I still need to pay shipping? Isn't the only perks that make you go to a shop the quicker shipping, or the hope it may be in stock, and no shipping fees, and sometimes the discount you get after buying a bike there? It damn sure isn't due to the knowledge of the associates in most cases.

Gripe 2: A buddy of mine used an unopened bottle of brake fluid I had and replaced it by ordering the brake fluid from Ride Now and just put it in my name so I could pick it up when it came in. I got the call and went to pick it up... mind you I was already hot from being in leather under the sun and upset that again I had to do buisiness with such a crappy shop and upset they raped my buddy on the cost when I should have just charged him what I paid for the fluid (motul rbf600) and the parts associate starts baggin on me for wasting my money on 20 dollar brake fluid and how unles I'm some racer I don't need it. Again great customer service and why do you care what kind of oil or what kind of anything I prefer to use on my bike? It's none of your f'n councern. Hell why don't I trade in my litre bike for a vespa since I'm just wasting my money on overkill?

Gripe 3: Parts come from Calif. just like they did when I was in Oregon yet take longer to get here and twice even though I went in with printouts and did all the leg work for them they ordered the wrong parts somehow. Of course right away I thought maybe I gave them the wrong part numbers to give benefit of doubt but I still had the printout and compared it to what had come and somehow they messed it up and the numbers they ordered didn't match my printout so I had to wait even longer for my parts.

Gripe 4: This is the worst and I'm very upset with myself for not walking over and saving this kid from an arsehole, and in the future I won't hesitate to step in. We've all heard plenty of stories of dealers lying to new riders about how they would get bored on a 600 and how they should get a 1000 for whatever reason and I believed the stories were true and there are some sleezy people out there but never had I seen or heard first hand such lack of concern for a fellow rider or soon to be one so I fig'd there weren't many of them out there and fig'd I'd never see one, but no -ish I was walking out one day and heard a sales guy telling some young guy how he shouldn't buy that 600 'cause he was gonna get bored with it and wouldn't be able to keep up with his friends and he'd have to trade up right away. And he was telling him how one bike was better just 'cause it looked better. Nevermind stating/explaining actual tech facts or matching a bike to the kid and not the kid to a bike or listening to what the kid wanted. That one upset me and ensured I would never buy a bike from that place or let a friend of mine at least not with current staff and management.

There's several more shady stories people have shared with me but these are the ones I personally experienced. Any of the first 3 things alone wouldn't be too bad I guess and maybe I'd just call it a fluke or a bad day, but literally every time I go there it's a bad experience so now I'd rather have a tech at jiffy lube work on my bike than one at Ride Now.

However... one thing in their favor, it does look nice in there :) I like the remodel.

it was probably ride now in chandler.

This first time I went there to look at bikes, a salesman came up to me and I told him I wanted to take a look at a few bikes. He asks how long I was riding, I said never. Let me show you something...takes me to a...well I don't remember what he showed me...but it had some feature that allowed you to lower the power with a switch. I may have not known much about bikes at the time, but I know when a salesman is only about the sale and not about me when he shows me something after 1 question.

I heard! They also shorted me oil and overcharged my friend who had everthing priced through their site. Part numbers and everything! They marked everything up from their own site like 35-45% in the store!

ya I am betting the price tag was ridiculous. I didn't even bother asking what it was because I wanted to go used for my first bike.

The second time I went in there, I was said I had 5k to spend on a used bike and the salesmans eyes lit up like it was christmas

Hit your head on the pavement too many times? Common.... Read the entire site, It's not just price, it's lies, piss poor service and paying for things that WERE NOT GETTING TAKEN CARE OF!!!

So you think it's ok to have a "Sales Manager" flat out LIE to your face to make a deal? Grow up!~

Hales1000RR
07-13-2008, 12:49 PM
I guess hitting my head on the pavement too many times made me DUMB enough to read shit before I sign it or know what something is worth before I go to a dealership. Also DUMB enough to know that salesmen on 100% commission will do some shady shit to make a quick buck. Guess they know a SMART guy like you when they walk in the door. CONGRATULATIONS!

Broc Lee
07-13-2008, 01:04 PM
I guess you are missing the point. Yeah, the price was high, but when I ask about a warranty and I get told there is no such warranty, when a friend HAS that warranty, I guess I get a little pissed. Also, at that time, I was UNAWARE they were on 100% commission.... car salesmen get a base plus commission.

And for the LIE to come not only from the salesperson, but also from the SALES MANAGER!!!! well then you have to ask yourself, is this a company you want to do business with.

It's a sad world we live in when this kind of behavior becomes the standard and getting a fair deal is the rarity. And again, you only read SOME of what happened.... read the rest, read about the garbage that was sold as new to the guy in Florida... how they charged 1 purchase to two credit cards....

Yeah, this is a stand up company.

I have just a couple things about this situation...

I have worked for Metro Motorsports and USA motorsports. I now work at Kawasaki Superstore and have notice a few MAJOR differences in the companies and how they treat people in general, not just customers but employees also.

Ride Now is owned by the same people that own Coulter Caddilac and other Coulter dealerships and also Arrowhead Harley Davidson, etc. We all know that they have terrible service, they don't care about anything other than making money, and they have salesmen that will do just about anything to make that money...right???

SO WHY DOES EVERYONE KEEP GOING???

They are convenient and because they will give you a discount...... want to know why they can beat anyones "discount" in the valley (discount-not price)??? :D
It has nothing to do with buying in bulk most of the time. It is called price escalators. You can set them in the lightspeed (the computer system they use) to be whatever you want. So basically it works like this. Normally, you would have an update every month that will update in your computer what prices have been changed to as set by the manufacturer or distributor.
Say there is a part that cost $75 to the dealer. Well, the manufacturer has that updated along with the retail price which they have set at $100. Now price escalators are put in by the company who is selling the parts. Ride now has an average of 20% price escalator. This means THEIR retial price has just now become $120. Now of course they will give you 10% off! You think you are getting a good deal, but still getting ripped off. Because any other store would still be selling that item at $100, you just paid $108 "with a discount" and thought you got a good deal. Get it? Those are the only shops that I have worked at that actually use the price escalators.

People continue to go to RideNow dealerships because they are convenient. It is like Circle K. There is one on almost every corner. Do you go into a Circle K expecting outstanding service? No, it is convenient, so it is looked over.

It is ridiculous what they do and how they treat people, but are some LETTING themselves get treated this way? Why would you sign somehting before reading it? NEVER sign a general statement that they can run your credit! They can just hit you as many times as they want until they get you approved. Get specific. The more you know, the less likely they are to screw you.

They lie, this is known. Empty promises is pretty much what everyone leaves a ride now store with even if they didn't buy a bike.

Unfortunately sites liket his only give them more advertising. I understand the thought, but you don't understand these people. You even tell everyone where they are located. They are probably loving that.

Also if you have to buy something from ride now, check out their website first and see what the price is on the website. Normally they have a REAL discount on their website, and if you take that into a store they HAVE to match it. Otherwise stay the hell out of their stores!

Also, I don't think that I would ever waste my time standing out in front of thier stores and bringing more attention to them. Nor would i waste money on a website.

Just thought I would throw in my 2 (thousand) cents :-)

If people read and still go, that's their fault.... but at least they know what to expect and MAYBE they can get a better deal.

For me, I knew nothing about them.... they were close and this was my 1st purchase through a dealer, all other bikes I owned came from private sales. Starting to think that all future purchases will also be through private sales.

As for putting out $$$, I own a server so hosting costs me nothing, the software was free... :) Takes no time to make a post or two, I'm out nothing.

That really sucsk that your first experience with a dealer was with them. I am sure that it puts a bad taste in your mouth and you will never trust another dealer. So far, from what I know the Kawi Superstores are good and Coyote. Apache can be good, if you get with the right people.

Depends, one thing for sure... if I were to go to another dealer, I will be more prepared... if nothing else, I learned a lot.

So yeah, I was a sucker.... They may have made a good profit from me, but they'll lose it elsewhere, and if I can help that loss, kinda makes it a little better... if that makes sense.

The price is really not even the issue though... it's the blatant lie to my face. From a manager yet. I mean you kinda expect bull from the salespeople but to be lied to from a manager? And over a tire warranty? I mean really.... they charged me for the other warranties they said they were throwing in... why not just add this in too.... why lie?

if i'm correct? apache was bought by ride now also!! (so iv'e been told)

i have dealt with ysa (now ridenow) for the last two bikes i got. never had a problem. i also do my research and know what i'm buying and what i'll pay otd before i sign jack!!

as far as ridenow! they suck!! i have gone to metro on bell twice, once for my first quad purchase (ended up going to apache to get it) and just two weeks ago. i went to get a used ranger (only place that had one) i even asked my old saleman from ysa if he could bring it to his store for me to buy and he said, they weren't allowed to move product for other stores?? even when there owned by the same company.

it was a 06 ranger with ? hour on it, and had a exhaust rattle when running (cat/exhaust shield?) and was told before i saw it, it had been through inspection!? also some of the front plastics were warped from the sun! they wanted $9,100 for it!! you can buy a (brand new) ranger for $10,300!!!!

this is the only place i have dealt with, that you can go in with a 700 score and a brain, and they will tell you your stupid and your credits so so! but they can get you the deal at $2000 over the selling price and at 14% interest!!!

yeah, me and a friend were at the BMW/Victory dealership in mesa looking around.... I saw a brochure that had the RN name on it and made a comment, the guy says, Well we are owned by RN... we heard that and walked right out.

With all I see here, I just wish more would help out by posting in the sections that are still blank or just tell their story and add to the site (good or bad, it's all allowed). But it's all good, I get a lot of views that will have to do for now. It will grow in time. :)

Thanks for the heads up. This will be something I will keep my eye on, gotta keep my list up to date... LOL.

If mom needs some side work, I'm sure we could send some business her way....
RN dealerships have left a trail of nightmares all across the valley.

Get in line...

not 100% sure? just what i heard.

i remember when van tule (sp?) bought all the dealerships and waited two years before they put the power name on them all. people never knew they were owned by them, two years proir to the name change!

The power dealers aren't owned by Van Tuyl... those are Autonation dealers...

I work for a Van Tuyl dealer (pinnacle nissan)

As far as RideNow goes,.... Yea I bought my R6 there and I have done a lot of business with them... and haven't had 1 problem. The only thing is that when I bought the bike and they threw in frame sliders... well they gave me ones for a R6 and not the S. So now I have been patiently waiting but they are on backorder. But other than that.. the service has been good, I have ordered a ton of parts there... and the guys are really cool as well... this is the one in Chandler BTW.

As far as what I have paid and gettin ripped off... 1st, I know that I might have paid a little more than I should have.. but I also know what it's like to make a good commission sale considering I'm a car saleswoman and we are just trying to put food on the table for our families just like everyone else who gets salary checks.. we might just have to work a lill bit harder... if a customer is really happy with who they bought from and what they bought and don't have buyers remorse at all... then they are usually wiling to pay just that little bit extra.

Now if I do have a bad experience with them any time in the future, of course I will be coming on here. I'm scared with how many times I've heard they dropped bikes and everything... but shit happens right?

Don't take this wrong Julie... but the first time they drop your bike... "shit happens" will be the last thing you say! lol

It would be nice if you all would post your story where they will actually see it. They watch my site often. My last post about my service experience had a call from them real quick. With any luck, some heads are gonna roll over it! :)
