yup, I rode to Orange County and back a few weeks after getting my bike. Personally, it was a really shitty ride. Yeah i did about 120 the entire way back but i didnt ride the bike for a week afterwards cuz I was so sore.

San Diego is a little closer though, and there are probably a bit cooler ways you could take. OC is pretty much just a straight shot and the only part that is twisty is like 3 miles through the 60 from Indio to Riverside. I will probably take the bike back sometime soon though. Because I want to hit all the mountain rides and PCH; now that i am comfortable in the twisties.

I did once, rode there, my buddy went with me had his truck..ended up loading the bike up in the truck on the way home lol.

Like Richie said, even if you haul ass it's a long, boring, unexciting, straight ride..Once you get into San Diego county up in the Laguna Mountains and such, it's not bad, but everything in between sucks to ride.

Although, I forgot to add, once you actually get to San Diego, having a bike with you can be awesome if you have time to ride PCH.

yeah the 10W is not the most entertaining ride in the world. Never done it one a bike but in the car a bunch (on the way to/from portland). it's flat and plain and you actually do have to watch for cops in a few spots. i got yelled at for doing 80 with a trailer (trailers 60/cars 70 speed limit) even though there was really nobody around.

I have heard on a bike the trick is usually pad the seat with a towel or pillow and it makes it a bit more comfortable.

German for Whales Vagina?
I havent done it before but I would do it anytime. Richie you need to adjust your posture if you were that sore man.

lol ok dude. ride my bike, how agressive the stance is and how little padding on my seat and tell me my posture. I was in full tuck the entire way doing 120; with a lot of wind coming at me.

well i was thinkin bout makin the ride, probly not going to now, doesn't really seem like a good idea if everyone has something bad to say about it. probly not a good idea anyway since i will be leaving in the evening time. maybe nex time. i think the only way i would do it now is if i had someone to ride with.:bike:

if u do it, and its at night, be sure not to override your headlight. I almost took out a coyote doing 90 in the car, which was eating something dead on the road. it was doing 90 and didnt see it until it was right on top of me. had i been on the bike, i would have nailed it.

I bought my bike in OC, CA and rode it here. I couldnt go
over 70 and I had to slow down and acelerate all 450 miles to brake it in. It was exausting but really fun. I would definately do it again.

lol easy enough. THAT looks like a boring ride

the 8 is pretty similar, i'd say. until you get close to san diego, out of the desert, and into the mountains. last time i was out that way saw a handful of bikes in each direction in the area

Yep, 8 is just as boring as 10 for the most part until you come into the laguna mountains which are in San Diego Country. *yawn*
