Trackday Firebird East July 27th

I am signed up, its open Track from 0600 to 1400, will probably be there till about Noon as it will be hot I'm sure at 8AM!!! I'm going to be there pitting with Javier (Medic on these boards) and Brad may show and a few others, I know there are people coming out to watch with Javier and I will be bringing my Bro-in-Law, Rob, who is going to bring out his DJ equipment and spin some music for us in the morning/early afternoon. Anyone who may have pondered the idea of going to a Trackday, you should come out and watch us, like I mentioned will probably be hot early, so get out early to watch! Come ask questions check out bike setup or just come to chill. There will be plenty of faces you know or can easily get to know.

If you ridden track before and want to ride, there are spots left, its only $149 which is cheap for here in Phoenix!

It's Open Session!

Any rider with previous trackday experience is welcome to attend. Unfortunately, no first time track riders are allowed at these events.
The track is open from 6am until 2pm. We also have the timing loop set-up, and all riders get free transponder use so you can get your lap times for the entire day.

No fee for Spectators! I can't guarantee you will have perfect viewing of the Track, this will be my first time on the East Track!

Yeah, once you have to start answering to sponsors and worrying about getting those sponsor dollars, it becomes a job just like anything else you do... There will be the good and the bad and things you just don't want to deal with.

However, if you really like to ride/race, it's worth it, at least you are still doing what you love and getting paid for it.

If you really enjoy racing, go for it!! At least try it....otherwise, you will always have that feeling in the back of your mind.... "what if".

You don't have to be rich. Its not to to expensive, and racing is a blast. I make money from tire contingency. So it helps a little with cost

Cool.... I can't sell them, according to the event manager,without permission from the event or the reservation officials, but I would be more than happy to give them to you if any turn out good. I have never shot action so I am curious to see how well I do.

Not too sure how many of us long hairs are left, so if you see someone with a pony tail and a camera, say hello, that would be me. I will be sure to try to capture you specific once I know who you are. :D

my bike is my only transportation so I try to be cool with it. but I am dying to get out and do a 1/4 mile drag :D

The drags are way fun. Not as much fun as the road course but it is alot of fun for the money.

I wrecked my streetbike at the track one time and decided that a trackbike would be alot better for me. You can find some great deals on salvage title bikes that make great track bikes.

I got around a bit, not everywhere I wanted as this was my 1st time out... wasn't real sure where all I could go. John said that as long as I was behind a barricade I was fine and not to cross the track when hot.

Where was corner 3? On the south end? I didn't make it all the way to the end. Furthest I made it was just past the S turn where the large barricade is.

I really liked that last corner before where the entrance was... there was some good leaning in that turn.

I was basically out brushing up my photo skillz... I was just shooting 8mp jpgs... next time, i will be sure to shoot in RAW which would be top of the line quality, I just didn't want to spend all day dumping them to my lap top...
