Here's the rundown.
Well first off I would like to thank everyone at Roadrace Southwest and espescially Rick Bucher for teaching the race liscensing clinic.
My first race was unlimited supersport which had a huge grid so that was pretty exciting. I started from the 17th row in that race so I had alot of work to do even though I knew I wouldn't catch up to any experts. The supertwins were gridded in front of me about 3-4 rows and figured I could catch them in a half lap or so. I got a great start and passed about 6 riders off the start and going in to turn 1 I was right behind some of the experts and I got kind of excited for a second until I saw them leave me soon after turn 2. Some of the other amateurs passed me out of the carousel but I was excited that I was dicing it up mid pack. Soon after the race got redflagged and we had to restart the race and I was pretty far up on the grid and feeling good about it. I restarted the race in the second row on the left so I was leading the amateur pack becasue of the crash. I once again got a great start and went into turn 1 in 5th place. Two laps later in 7th place I ran off in turn 10 and lost a bunch of positions leaving me in last place. I got back on and ran down the supertwin guys and finished 4th to last. I was unhappy with my finishing position because I was doing well until I ran off but the race was a freaking blast.
My second race is a race I should have never entered (Heavyweight Superbike) and there was no slow guys to mess around with so I was all by myself going as fast as I could go and I got lapped at the start finish line on the last lap. I should have known at pit out when I saw all the super fast guys that I was in the wrong race. lol. Oh well I learned a few things and will chalk it up and move on. Oh ya, I was the guy who did the extra lap. I thought you has to complete the whole 8 laps.
Thanks to all of you who helped out a new racer and I will continue to race with RRSW.

You need to be racing Middle weight supersport and middle weight superbike and MAYBE Unlimited GP. Those will be the only races will be competetive in. And you best class is the Middle weight supersport. Just stick w one or two races for the first season or you'll just get burnt out and be broke as fuck. DNF's DO NOT COUNT, 0 points and fixing your bike between race weekends is not fun.

I would run those races except my bike is a 750. So I am very limited to what classes I can race. Next time I am going to do unlimited Supersport again and unlimited superbike because they are combined amatuer and expert classes. I may be turning my 636 into a trackbike to fix the problem of not doing all the races I want to do. Then I will have 2 setups and will be alot less work.

The first one wasn't too bad but the second was brutal. I'd like to see how you do against experts.

I never said stunters didn't have skill. I think that stunters have some of the best bike control out of any rider. I am just saying you would not do very well at the track against riders that have alot of track experience.

im just giving you a hard time.
yeah i cant ride elbow to elbow with other riders cause i'd fear taking some one out.
if i had a steering damper and some 1 heat cycle take offs im sure i'd kick some fuckin ass though.

well i'd like rearsets, radial brakes with better rotors, re-valved forks with fresh fluid, ohlins rear shock, some light wheels... the list can go on forever. im just thinking about bare minimum to give me that good confidence boost you know. 954 slaps hard enough under 3/4ths accel and lays some grunt im allways drifting out of turns no matter what tires i run. i set up my sag in april and got the rebound and damping set fairly good for stock susspension.
...im allways drifting out of turns no matter what tires i run...
Try some pirelli dragon supercorsa takeoffs. They'll fix that problem :thumb:

we will, but does anyone really man up and do it? not really.
in reality CCS is more expensive than arroyo even with the drive and hotel stay....and hell you dont even have to stay at a hotel. just camp on the track. trust me ive slept in the back of the burban many of times hahahaha and probley even more to come.
people just think its to expensive. when all you need is a bike and your all set. you dont need fancy tire warmers and race tires. ive raced plenty of ppl on PP and diablo CIII's.
it is a long drive but well worth it for the people and the track time you get.:72:
