lol but its the danger that makes it fun, the track is good too but its when your coming around a turn and all you see is the sky and the cliff ending is when you get the rush. Its the im gona die turns that make if fun for me :72:
I once had a friend who thought like that. We do a memorial ride for him every year.

Ya, i do know i could very well die doing it. thats how i keep in mind what my limitations are, but once i get done rideing in that place, i have two things going through my mind. one being im glad i made it through that, and two, i wish i woulda have hit it a little harder. that how i keep going back at it

Its all about walking on the edge guys yea it fun and exciting getting close but you will walk too close some day and will pay the price. Its much safer to lowside at a track doing 90 then it is to lowside doing 30 on a city street. Its all about risk and how much risk your willing to take. for some they are willing to take on more risk than other.

its like oil that they put down to reseal it. was up there sat. morning, should have just slept in and replaced my front wheel bearings. I went up the hill past the restaurant thinking the road would get better but never did and was tired of hearing the rocks and crap flinging on the bike so i turned around. id wait to see if anyone goes and gives another report but i probably wont be back up there for 2 weeks.

actually, i think very few know me, i like it that way! but seriously, i know w/ all the damn cameras, huh? i'll have to bust out the umbrella everywhere from now on!!! lol
I can't make people understand my picture thing. it is what it is and sometimes i don't mind, but it's rare. i haven't willingly been in a picture since november, and that was only to make mom happy cause it was thanksgiving. if i have my helmet on, i don't care. it has to do w/ me being an extremely private person, blah blah blah, that's why i have a bigger issue w/ them being online, which i will never be ok w/. i can't make people understand. hopefully people respect it when i request that they not take my picture. it's all good though :)

690 posts since June and you are private?
Just sayin'
oh no you did not pull out the 'just saying' card so i couldn't ge mad!! that's playing dirty! lol
but here's the thing, 690 posts doesn't mean anything when you look at them all lined up. there's no info in them. the only info is i''m shy and don't talk as much as i type (oh, and i'm not a lesbian even though i say certain things stuff...damn you hottie & tek!!! lol)
i hang out w/ the same 6 or 7 guys & they know absolutely nothing about me personally even though i know a ton about them. i type a lot, but don't talk very much in person & they will attest to that. i don't talk about myself because i've been stabbed in the back too many times. if you didn't hear it from me, you probably shouldn't know it about me (when it comes to some info) but i will hold onto info about you until the day i die because it's in my nature not to talk about people behind their backs. i don't do things i wouldn't want done to me. one of the boys can attest to being able to trust me (i won't make him though) if you tell me something in confidence, it's safe w/ me forever. i have a lot of dirt on a lot of people from over the years. i can't make people understand the picture thing and how that ties into my privacy issues. and i will never give the ok to my picture being on the internet. again, it is what it is, and i just learn to dodge cameras and hope people take the issue seriously when i ask then not to photograph me. (EVAN!!!! I SPEAK TO YOU. THAT WAS MESSED UP, I DON'T TRUST YOU, AND YOU CAN'T COME OVER ANY MORE. DUST STORM OR NOT!!!)

I was framed. I think Mayo pushed me so he didn't have to sweep behind my slow ass anymore! lol
nah, i'm just kiddin. damn, it was....i don't know, maybe half way down that same road that threw you off! lol it was raining, my visor was all covered in water, and it was a tight left turn. I couldn't see the outside/outcome of the turn to do a follow thru look and for whatever reason, I couldn't hold the turn. I messed up and I'm pissed. i was going slow and i was in a low gear, but just couldn't make the turn.
A friend thinks the line tightend up and i panicked. i should not have hit the brakes or let off the throttle. and then i wouldn't have crashed. but i'm not going back to test out his theory! I told everyone i sucked at turns. just wish i hadn't gone and proven it. lol

i've learned in the years of riding that the bike can def take the turns. Every time I've almost panic stopped in a turn i go to hot into i just commit and make it out safe. It def sucks when roads are wet and vision is bad but u gotta learn to commit.

That would be 1-2 miles just outside of the infamous Jerome, AZ...
Believe it or not, doin' only about 25 mph...once she lost contact with the road surface, she just kept right on slidin, through the oncoming lane which was clear,
and into the rocky shoulder of the opposite side of the road.
Held her upright all the way into the dirt...just ran out of shutdown room in the dirt, so I let her go..
BTW....as ugly as it looks, both me and the bike hopped right up...she was fired right up and was rideable.
I was just a bit sore with a coupla lumps. Full gear = no road rash...:genius:

I've done that road 8-10 times in the last year, so I was well aware what to look for.
This time, however, this particular corner was far worse than I had ever seen.
We'd made the 10-12 miles previous without issue. As a matter of fact, I stopped at the beginning of the road
to warn the two riders with us that had never hit this road before, about the "washboard effect."
Still, two of us bit it....:rant:

Yeah, Thomas already laid into me for crashing. That was some of our conversation I was quoting. I know it was me and not the bike. I suck at twisties, and I admit it.

^^^hhmmm....i think i just got called a name..... lol i don't know if i actually panicked though, i just couldn't hold the turn. panic would mean fear, and i don't fear tight turns, i just don't care for them at high speeds. plus, i was just pissed off about crashing. more getting hurt than crashing, cause crashes happen. getting hurt screws up a lot of stuff and puts people out.
but, i really do listen to all the advice every one gives me and try to put it to use. but sometimes you don't get advice until its too late.
tell you what, after getting chewed out by thomas one night, i sure as hell change lanes a lot better and quicker now. sometimes you don't you suck until someone tells you.

Corners are not my best.. and I fully admit it.. I love to go passenger on them at stupid speeds, BUT my wrist and my brain don't play together, so I always advise everyone, I tend to slow down before the corner and speed like hell OUT of it, but I don't hold ever go into fast... doubt I ever will....

ok kenny, here's the info in the right place! :)
found out mines gonna be $2700 in parts and $450 in labor from my dealership. i have no idea what the adjuster thought it came to though, i gotta call him monday and get them to compare notes....
oh, and to answer your question kenny, that's left side only: all fairings, gear shifter, fork, front foot rest, grip & mirror & clutch lever are scratched-can live w/o replacing, plus my tail light and seat were damaged. plus any internal damage or any part that's road rashed or damaged from my gear shifter jamming into it was included in that estimate. they look at everything needed to make her new again..

^^^eh, if you're gonna go down, go down hard right? Had to make the turn somehow exciting at that slow ass speed I was going! lol
Had I not slid into mud off the side of the road she, and probably me, would not have fared so well. The bike landed on my leg, Libretto had to lift it off of me, so I'm lucky to only have a twice broken finger and sprained wrist. Damn bike still works, she's just ugly now.
